I'm in the market for a new ipad to replace my ipad 3. Its either going to be the ipad pro 12.9 or 9.7'. Can anyone who has the larger version let me know if they regretted buying this. Is it really not that portable? I do want my ipad to be portable but like the idea of the bigger screen just because it's different to what i have. Thanks in advance.

Had the 12.9 nearly a year now. Don't regret it one bit. Sure it is a tad heavy but all the space is worth it. Also have the pen for drawing. I like to mirror the Mac to the iPad then do refinements on the Mac itself.

Plus there is never any slowdowns I've never experienced on it. Everything happens instantaneous.

Call me old school but I still find a pencil and paper best for drawing, shopping lists, little noted, billet doux and that kind of thing.

BTW is there any truth in the rumour Apple plan to bring out a 15in iPad for folk with really big houses and really big pockets?

Doubt it! Samsung's 18 incher, only a year old, seems to have disappeared from the tech chat scene so I wonder if there is a market for pure tablets that big. Yeah, you could pair it up to purpose built keyboard but you might as well buy a MacBook.

I love my 12.9" iPad Pro. I do a lot of commuting so the larger screen is great for watching Netflix et al. It's not noticeably heavier than the smaller version but get a good case for it
