We've seen her struggling to cope this week as Ashley's condition continues to rapidly deteriorate, I don't think it's out of the question for us to see her slip back into her old habits.
Not sure if enjoying is the right word, but I am definitely engaged in this storyline, fantastic performances all round

It'll most likely happen at some point in the storyline, whether it be now or after Ashley's gone.

It's horribly unfair on the kids though since she's the one insisting on handling everything herself and that she could handle a newborn baby on top of everything.

Why don't they have a nurse come and help out? That way he'd be in a familiar environment instead of being with strangers at the day care and the nurse would be there to keep Ashley safe while the family members have to go and see to the baby rather than have to juggle his care with everything else.

I agree, I think this weeks scenes in particular will finally make Laurel realise that she needs to accept help - I think that's what Emmerdale are trying to portray, you can't do it alone.

I think it will, most definitely, lead to a relapse for Laurel.

As for having a nurse, I don't think they could afford one, Laurel talked about how she could not afford to take too much time off on her maternity leave and the nurse my Nan had didn't come cheap.

John Middleton, Ashley is portrying a very realistic and moving storyline. He is doing a superb job.

Laurel is doing her best but sometimes that isn't enough. Help is available so maybe the part will lead down that road.

Hope Ashley doesn't day during one of his wandering off episodes, by getting knocked down and killed by a car.

Yeah, what most people get is a care worker coming out two or three times a day, for about fifteen minutes. I think even that's s quite dear. I suppose they might be entitled to help with the costs though. He would certainly be entitled to benefits.i' m sure he would also get Personal Independence Payment to help with costs incurred by his illness

BIB: I wouldn't count on that with the rejection rates that I've seen.

Besides, I don't think anybody actually claims benefits in soap!
Only the lazy people who don't want to work claim benefits.

There are quite high rejection but Ashley's s case is pretty severe and he dies have a social worker, I think? Social workers and health specialists will give supporting statements and organisations like Citizens Advice and local authorities will also provide a lot of help and support in the claims process.

My thoughts are that she will "fall off the wagon" but I think it will probably be after Ashley is no longer with us.

People saying helps available must live in very different parts of the country, here even getting a GP appointment is impossible, getting help for anyone looking after a disabled person is just as hard to access. One lady here has two flights of stairs with her two under five kids and her husband who had a stroke about Easter time. First few weeks if anyone was here when she needed help if was neighbours carrying pushchairs and helping kids up while she helped her husband. More than once found her crying on the stairs and everyone else was I their car because she couldn't find anyone at home in the flats.
