I'm enjoying Peter's return, his scenes with everyone have been nice and it's great that so far we don't have to endure Peter's relationship drama crap that took over his previous stints on cs.

I'm concerned.

Yes, there's plenty of stuff going on but my goodness most of it is utter cr4p. And it's all so rushed. It's turning into a flamin' cartoon.

This was the premier soap, with masterful writing, gentle humour, realistic dialogue, finely crafted characterisation and understated acting. Where did it all go wrong? (Yes, I know it's not 1976 any more! )

How many on-off weddings? How many people living in each of the small terraced houses or flats? Roy & Cathy - what the hell? Leanne's waddling? No reaction from characters about anything that's happened like David and the accident, Phelan's flats scam, Michael's death, Maria's arrest and release. Next to no impact or aftermath resulting from any of these stories either. Brian living with Norris, Freddie living with Fizz and Tyrone... why, why, why?

It is head and shoulders above Emmer at the moment, getting better all of the time, fed up with these negative posts all of the time. what exactly do you want from Corrie?

LOVING the barlows, loving Nicks worrying about Peter taking Leanne away from him( he knows he could if he wanted to) and LOVE the way that Peter has decided to chuck the fishwife out of the flat 2 weeks before xmas

The Mary storyline is brill too, who would have thought?

Poor old Roy, he doesnt know whether he is coming or going does he?

Glad the Caz storline was wrapped up swiftly, Corrie know when something isnt working, unlike Emmer( FGS let Emma be caught soon)

I'm sorry but I couldn't disagree more - in my opinion Emmerdale was 'head and shoulders' above Corrie this week, the Ashley and Laurel scenes in particular were amazing, very powerful stuff.

I gave it a 9 just then, because last night's (Friday's) episodes I really really enjoyed in a way I haven't for a long time.
The Nick and Peter scene was great, absolutely great. And the Mary and Norris scenes were great too. The Peter and Leanne stuff was good too, if slightly hammy by Leanne...is she really that naive and gullible.

I'm not sure aside from the Ashley scenes I don't think Emmerdale has been that good. Don't think that there's much in it although I'd lean more towards CS atm

You should never have a poll on how 'bad' something is??? You're never sure whether 1 or 10 is good or bad.

The thread quiz title is a bit confusing. I am sure many people voted back to front

I am enjoying Corrie, at the moment. It's wonderful to have scenes between Leanne and Peter. They can both act !! Such a shame that they are not married, anymore, Their scenes always worked.

Still, who knows what will happen in the next relationship, ' Musical chairs.'

Yes indeed, all Emmer had was the Ashley scenes, but Corrie IMO was better all round, I mean, the Finn stuff, turning him into a crazed stalker and then the bloke just happening to be gay too, it's all too much.

I find myself walking away from Emmer when it's on, too many ridiculous storylines drowning out the one good one.

Corrie has a lot going for it at the moment and I take it sometimes gets too much of a rough ride on here:

- Peter's return has been great and it's great to see him assume a greater position of responsibility within the Barlow household at last.
- Daniel has been an excellent addition to the cast and has a lot of intrigue and complexity around him.
- Todd and Billy have been great together and Todd has finally become a lot more rounded as a character since being with him.
- Gary and Sarah make a great couple
- Bethany has improved ten fold as a character and Lucy Fallon has put in some excellent performances this year with the bullying, Sarah's breakdown and her own self-confidence issues. Can't wait to see how this plot with newcomer Nathan pans out.
- Gail is a much stronger character and we no longer see the simpering behaviour that plagued the character for years.
- The flat scam plot has been decent viewing and Phelan is a great villain
- Genuine chemistry between Maria and Aidan
- Mary's new storyline looks promising so far
- Toyah's upcoming return

I gave it 6 - it's improving but there's obviously still work to do. I really like a cast clear out could push it up to an 8.

To all the people who voted 1, why on earth are you still watching?

Emmerdale was good thursday and friday before that it had been crap for weeks with endless Kerry nonsense and that Nicola and Jimmy crap.

I gave Corrie an 8 because its had some great stories over the past few months starting with Kylie's death and David losing it, Phelan's scam, Sarah and Gary's romance, the reinvention of the Barlow family and the Todd/Billy romance.

I really don't get what people are expecting from Corrie, Kate Oates has done some things that people on here have been wishing for for years. She has given Gail a backbone and finally explained why Todd is the way he is.

Before reading the first post, I thought 1 was for good, and 10 for atrocious, so I chose 1, (obvs meaning 10, if you know what I mean).

I like Kate Oates and she has done fantastic to improve the show and the mess Stuart Blackburn left behind.

\It is. It's not Corrie any more .. \it's what kate Oates does - screens her own atories using convenient actors.

Oh I though that 1 meant good and 10 meant bad? why is it the other way round??? this is so confusing( and pointless)

A scale of one to ten of badness surely means that 10 is bad??

I'm enjoying it. The Barlow stuff is top notch at the moment, especially Tracy's tapes on Thursday! The Leanne/Peter/Nick jealous story is a really interesting take on a 'love triangle', it feels cosily familiar but different at the same time.

It's not all good - Mary is a pain in the arse full stop, I doubt this Jude storyline will be worth all the drivel we've had to endure apart from her confiding in Norris. Even that felt oddly flat for something so 'powerful'. Cathy/Roy/Nessa is horrendous, the sooner that ends the better.

But I'm liking Maria given more stuff to do. It's not perfect but no soap ever is. I think it's in the best shape it's been for about five years.
