Agree with you, Red Eye and Mel. Good posts. I think the best the soaps can do really is portray Muslims as flawed characters who actually come across as three-dimensional, living, breathing humans - some of them could be unlikeable, some could be nice, some inbetween. But let's not pigeon hole them into stereotypical or tokenistic roles.
I thought Zainab was a good example of a well rounded muslim character, she was pretty obnoxious at the best of times but she had different sides to her personality and characterisation.
