Their bid now is still more than the bid they made in 2010, including that £5 billion, about £1.5 billion more.

When they made the bid they weren't offering the share price, they were offering almost 40% more than the share price which has now shot up by 50%.

And since 2010, their TV customer base has increased by about 25% in the UK alone, let alone across the other European markets, and their share of the broadband market has increased substantially.

While the share price may not have reflected it thanks to the overall post-referendum depression of companies in the FTSE who trade mainly here, sinking from 1000p a year ago to about 750p before the buying frenzy on Friday, the company is worth a lot more now than it was six years ago.

Murdoch's media empire lied to ensure their readers were more inclined to vote for Brexit.

Murdoch is now able to bid for total control of Sky because of the fall in sterling caused by Brexit.

Murdoch has done deals with several PMs including Thatcher, Blair and Cameron to support them in return for "favours".

Hence the silly "Corbyn dancing at the Cenotaph" headlines to damage Labour & help keep the Tories in power.

It's estimated that the influence of Murdoch's media empire has caused a minimum 6% shift in voting intentions. That includes Blair's landslide victory & Brexit.

Gaining more control of Sky gives him even more power in the UK and abroad.

It's not just Murdoch though is it. Daily Mail are at it as well shifting ownership/shares. It's all about money and power. Funnily enough they couldn't control EU.
