Perhaps the best thing to come out of the blossoming love relationship between Trump and Putin are the various parodies such as these.

I'm tired of the gigantic pissing contest that the USA engages in with Russia. I'm no lover of putin but the USA needs to concentrate on the most dangerous threats to the world which are isis imo.

That's a two way street. When Obama first became president back in 2008 he made a diplomatic policy push for a "reset" with Russia to improve relations. This was met with a very sternly cold response from Putin. Something Obama's administration were openly baffled by at the time.
https://www.theguardian.com/world/20...nion-diplomacy Important enough for the Rolling Stones to re-schedule their planned free concert in Havana to another date. http://www.billboard.com/articles/co...oncert-message I've just been reading up on the logistical nightmare of organising that too. Quite staggering! The idea to play Havana came from the band, but the legwork was done by Stones manager Joyce Smyth. She and AEG Asia/ Concerts West worked with the Cuban government to secure the date. The parties declined to comment on negotiations, but Concerts West co-president John Meglen says the show received “the support and permission of the Cuban Institute of Music, and we wouldn’t do it without that.” Still, the political and physical logistics of staging a show on such a scale in such relatively virgin territory cannot be underestimated. “You can’t just fill up a shipping crate and ship from Miami because of the embargo,” says the group’s agent, Sam Hunt of The Windish Agency. "Relations have warmed, but there are still a tremendous number of restrictions in place." While the Stones show’s free status simplified some matters -- neither the band, which has grossed around $400 million in touring since 2012, nor AEG is taking a profit -- the issue remained of how to pay for it. The group will be bringing 61 sea containers and a 747 freighter full of gear, as well as a 350-strong crew. “We have to bring in literally everything,” says Concerts West co-president John Meglen. |

Could you imagine if Hillary had won and Trump was claiming that the Russians had manipulated the news agenda to achieve it. The BBC et al would be taking the piss on a permanent basis...

Did they bring their own stadium? The concert which was free was shown on Channel 4 recently. On Catch Up here. I never knew until i recorded it Jagger speaks Spanish, not totally fluent but enough to converse. http://www.rollingstone.com/music/ne...otage-20160328 |

The thread title is rather amusing. Not only has the OP added the word 'confirmed', as though that means anything, but also the phrase "secret cia assessment"!
Given that Obama has been on TV to talk about it I don't think it's much of a secret. It would have been closer to the truth to say, Alleged: Russia interfered with USA elections (claims CIA assessment) |

The CIA and the FBI agree, that wouldn't be likely if it was a partisan effort.
It's unprecedented for a President-elect to undermine public confidence in U.S. intelligence agencies. He's testing the waters to see how much people will accept. Currently a huge swathe of them accept his version of the "truth" or the "truth" from websites like 4chan or reddit and shared on Facebook. If he can get in first, destroy any confidence in the CIA and FBI then who knows what he will be able to get away with in the next four years? |

Thank god that you read different news sources then.
You say that Obama has been about avoiding conflict but a week after he won his Nobel Peace prize he commissioned the production of a whole lot more nuclear weapons, and he carried out a covert war using drone strikes. Obama is all about presentation, but he's as into war as his predecessor was, only he like to pretend that he's somehow different and presents a benign image to the public. |

When the intelligence services release information to the public it is about strategy. They have no obligation to give the public any information whatsoever, they are independent and above scrutiny. If they give or leak information to the public it is not to be transparent or information releasing in the public good it is for strategic reasons. Because of this any information given to the public must be taken with a large grain of salt because it is very possibly completely made up and simply part of an overall strategy to propagandise the public mind.

If it was just the CIA maybe, but the FBI and 17 agencies in total, concur about the hacking. The FBI wouldn't have a pro Hillary agenda.
And I keep mis-reading 'Hillary' to have an extra 't' in it but it is just a reading thing, not a Godwinly accusation!

Why would a court be involved in anything involving remarks like 'blackmail is such an ugly word'?Quote:

How is it that you managed to read the entire last sentence without comprehending its meaning in the slightest?
