Tears For Fears: Best single? (Re-issued)
Reissued because I loused the first poll up with a glaring omission (and I thought it was all going so swimmingly too).
So once again, pleae vote for your favourite TFF single and perhaps tell us why it's the best, ta! ![]() (Poll closes Christmas Eve) |

Love TfF - saw them live several times back in the 80s. Awesome
![]() Very difficult to choose between Head over Heels and Woman in Chains - and indeed they're all brilliant. Plumped for Head over Heels just cos I had to choose one. |

Good choice Head Over Heels, I'd say Songs From The Big Chair was one of the great eighties albums. To that end, I saw that I Believe was issued as a single with the parenthesis (A Soulful Reissue) but it didn't make much sense as the list I worked from showed no prior release of it. I hope Change gets a good shout too, it has no votes as yet. |

Yes love Change, it would be in my top three, behind Pale Shelter and Mothers Talk. Most of their singles had a low-key epic quality, with intricate production. and subtly catchy hooks. They are one of my favourite acts of the 80s.

I loved the extra dimension that Oleta added to their sound. Beautiful voice.

Difficult choice, but would have to say that "Sowing the seeds of love" is one of my favourites.

I remember the original version of 'Pale Shelter' really catching my attention before they hit the big time...so that gets my vote.

Not a big fan of eighties music, but I love most of the singles that Tears For Fears released.
Close run thing for me between "Mad World" and "Everybody Wants To Rule The World", but eventually went for the former. This will sound like sacrilege to some of you, but I like the Gary Jules version too! Though not as much as the original. |

Surprised nobody has mentioned *Suffer the Children *, my overall favourite of theirs, closely followed by *Mad World*.
Have to admit it took awhile to get into them and I appreciate them more now Very accomplished musicians |

That's not a bad turnout for a first venture, almost 30 voters. And Pale Shelter and Mad World are still neck and neck. It has also confirmed my suspicion that there is zero love for Sowing.

'Pale Shelter' for me. 'Sowing the seeds' is probably my least liked.
I saw TFF live for the first time at Guildford Civic Hall on the night that 'Everybody Wants To Rule The World' went to number 1 in the charts. I was right at the front and can remember nearly being crushed when they played it. Good times. |

My favourite TFF single is "Advice For The Young At Heart" but that's not listed here.
My second favourite TFF single is "The Way You Are" but that's not listed here either. Of the ones that are listed I'd probably plump for "Everybody Wants To Rule The World". |

My second favourite TFF single is "The Way You Are" but that's not listed here either.. Secondly, the list of singles relied on major hits so songs that made at least the top 20 in the UK Singles chart. Advice For The Young At Heart peaked at 36 while The Way You Are reached 24 (ref Official Charts Company). Meantime, Pale Shelter has edged ahead again. 7 - "Pale Shelter" 6 - "Mad World" 5 - "Everybody Wants to Rule the World" 4 - "Shout" 3 - "Head over Heels" 3 - "Woman in Chains" (with Oleta Adams) 2 - "Change" 2 - "Mothers Talk" |

I love the production of the early hits so hard to choose between 'Change' and 'Pale Shelter' went for the latter in the end

Though not as much as the original. i dont care if i never hear it again now.. great british pop band, hard to chose, for me they never did an all time fav. but 'head over heels' is i think worthy of my vote. i dont think they did a bad track tbh. |

Great group with too many good songs to mention
If I were to pick my favourite (poll closed) It would be 'Mad World' I also like 'Break It Down Again' but that is later when ones left the band.. |
