In a long term relationship it's important to be comfortable with each other. The way I see it my husband may need my help with something similarly I might need his help with something. We all get old so who knows what the future may bring. If I get ill and need help to the toilet I will have no problem in him helping me and I'd do the same for him

Comfort is one thing, complacency is quite another. Failing to keep up interest in the bedroom falls into the latter category.
Familiarity frequently does breed contempt, sadly. Variety in everything is key, do new thing's together. |

This is perhaps a far better way of describing things than how I did. I know that she dressed up and made more of an effort with her previous boyfriends so when she didn't for me (due to her saying she was comfortable) it now made me think if she meant that she didn't feel like I was worth it.

Well if you want her to dress up take her somewhere where you dress up. I mean what are we talking about here? were you going to the opera and she was wearing a pair of sweatpants with juicy written on the arse?

This was some years ago though so can't change it now, just curious about the reasoning. |

No like I said before, I'd take us to a nice restaurant and wear a shirt and trousers, she would have on a pair of jeans and a hoodie. I'd tell her a week in advance so she'd have time to get something ready (often the restaurant was her choice too) but still no effort.

If you could get in wearing jeans and a hoodie why the hell were you wearing a shirt and trousers?
