I was reading online about UFC fighter Conor McGregor appearing in GOT, and also a piece about which actors would be good choices to appear such as Maggie Smith, Cumberbatch, Arnie (!?), though no mention of what characters they could play.

What actors would people like to see on the show?

For me the choice would be Brian Blessed, though don't know what character he would play.

As good as Stephen Dillane was as Stannis Baratheon I've always thought Mark Strong would have just as good

We've pretty much already seen that, as Mark Addy more or less played Robert Baratheon as Blessed.

Robson Green - ( as long as he sings Unchained Melody...) I see him as a Northern villager or possibly a Brother Without A Banner.

Anjelica Huston - as a red priestess or noble woman, or, in my minds eye Lady Dustin (omitted from the tv series).

Wyman Manderly - Richard Griffiths would have been gr8 in this role.

Robsons buddy Jerome could have a word with the producers.

Gillian Anderson. She feels like she could make a good fit to the show.

She actually turned down a role in the show back near the beginning.

It's never been revealed which character it was though her name was linked to Catelyn in the very early days of casting rumours.

More recent articles speculate it was Cersei or Melisandre.

Cant see her as Catelyn, but Mel would've been convincing. IMO its always been brilliantly cast.

Easily could imagine him, as a non descript northerner at castle black who's seen too much violence and wise beyond his years.

I'd love to see a rough looking Patrick Stewart as a miserable and cruel Stark battle commander or a Maester at the citadel.

Derek Jacobi is a good shout, he was Brother Cadfael after all. Also Toby Jones would be good as weasley character.
