Lantau Island, Hong Kong. The cable car journey there and back will stay with me forever.

All these are superb and I can't choose between them:
Blue Ridge Parkway, North Carolina and Virginia (Appalachian Mountains)
Glacier National Park, Montana (Rocky Mountains)
Grand Teton National Park, Wyoming (Rocky Mountains)
Icefields Parkway, Alberta (Canadian Rockies)
Monument Valley, Arizona and Utah
San Juan Mountains, Colorado
Yosemite National Park, California (Sierra Nevada Mountains)
Zion National Park, Utah

Wow - thanks guys, I did not expect to get so many answers, and all different.

Most beautiful city for me would be Dubrovnik probably because of the setting, also loved Florence, Grenada and Havana

The Pitons on St Lucia are stunning, closer to home I loved Stoupa in the Peloponnese and Turunc in Turkey.

Uk - Dartmouth and Lulworth Cove, the view from Parliament Hill facing away from London and looking down across the Highgate ponds, Peak District

It might sound perverse to some but mulling over some of the most beautiful places I've visited I would have to include;

The British Commonwealth War Cemetery, Yokohama, Japan

I visited Sicily once, that was beautiful, however it was a long time ago now, back in the late 90s.

The mountains in Madeira make you feel outer worldly as the clouds swirl beneath you.

Lake Garda in Italy is stunning. You can hire a boat and enjoy at your leisure.

Sailing through the Norwegian Fjords , waking up at 03:00 and it's still daylight stops you from wanting to sleep in case you miss anything.

For me, The Maldives.

Absolutely sublime. With most islands, you get a 360' of mirror calm, translucent turquoise sea. No litter and barely any sunbeds to spoil the white sand beaches. No traffic, no beach traders. No yachts moored all over the place to marr the views. Beautifully quiet. Tall palms with huge fruit bats flapping in and out, and a house reef just metres from the shoreline.

What about you? What's the most gorgeous place you've ever holidayed in?
Maldives for me too! Veligandu- Heaven on Earth!

Jesus, I nearly jumped out of my seat then! You don't often witness somebody break a vow of silence.

Veligandu is a beautiful island and still reasonably priced, like Angaga and Vilamendhoo, my favourites. Prices there have shot up since I last visited The Maldives in 2013. I think last time I priced it the cost was over £5k for ten days on a 4* island in the dry season.

One of the first places I visited in Greece was Paleokastritsa on the north east coast of Corfu - absolutely beautiful, pine clad cliffs and turquoise water. Still quite unspoilt.

Someone mentioned Lake Garda - we liked Riva with the spectacular Dolomites as a backdrop. Swimming there was like swimming in mineral water.

Agaro Ethiopia, truly awesome scenery. You can see the whole Kingdom of Gomma from the mountains.

me too i`m very fond of betsy.

edit @ your edit:

wales is stunning, it`s one of my favourite places, shame it`s so far.

i spent a while in the laurghane area this summer, i`ll definitely be going back there, i quite fancy doing the coastal path too.
Have you ever carried on a bit further when you've been there and been to the Llanberis Pass? My favourite part of Wales, and fairly easy to get to for us from the West Midlands!

MrKat has promised to take me there in the summer to watch the sunrise, I imagine that it would be so beautiful

That's in season (June, July, August mainly), but otherwise not.

In terms of cities, I would say Stockholm.
There's something quite beautiful and fairytale like about wandering through Gamla Stan on a warm summer's night. I would also say the beautiful locals enhance the city too

One of my aunts lives there.

Go up to the Rigi.

Lake Louise in the Rockies, the wedt coast of Scotland and the Gulf of Morbihan in Brittany take some beating for nature.
Florence is stunning. But Provence is my favourite humanised place.
Personally I prefer Moraine Lake over Lake Louise, I thought it was much more beautiful (not that Lake Louise isn't stunning, just my personal opinion).

Have to agree about West coast of Scotland though! 😀 I also like the Cairngorms in Scotland
