What an unfair community to belong to. You can work hard, dance beautifully with great accomplishment and if the judges have decided beforehand what marks they will give, there is not a thing you can do about it. How many souls have been destroyed by this over the years, I wonder.

I don't think it is an accurate reflection of what happens on Strictly though. The person most in danger tonight is Louise and you would never have predicted that before tonight's leaderboard. |

Not the latin and ballroom dance world anyway lol. You have to be philosophical about results anyway and so long as you're happy with how you danced and your pro/teacher/coach is happy with how you danced, just reassure yourself that you're moving in the right direction and go to your next competition ready to make a fool of any judge who doesn't write your number down.

Human nature being what it is , if someone takes a dislike to you for whatever insignificant or false reason then you are stuffed if they are judging you in dance or anything . That's just a plain ole truth . Look at all the threads demonising the Cliftons and tell me honestly -----if any of those detractors were judging Kevin or Joanne in a dance comp do you think they'd not let the "wig/rubber face/smug expression/over acting/over choreographing/Cliftonness" impair their judgement ? ![]() On the dance circuit (bad) news travels fast and infects decisions . That's just how it is . A totally fair and impartial judge is a rare thing . |

It happens in any event where judges give marks, not just dancing.

I think you've described a general truth of life, not just dancing.
Just swap judges with anyone in a position of power. |

So glad I don't belong to the dance world. So many "experts" who can't see the difference between entertainment and a professional competition...

Maybe this is why the producers do not want all 4 judges to be from the pro circuit. or they could end up with some very low score each week
