It's just the way they've always done things. They like to increase the marks as the weeks go by to add to the excitement. Even this year, Ore's AS to Singing in the Rain was one of the highlights of the series but he only scored 35 with the judges and wasn't even top of the leader board that week. I bet if it was repeated now he would score 39 or 40.

No, but it was great use of such an iconic scene from the movies. The irony is of course that John Travolta and Uma Thurman don't actually do much of a jive in the movie, it's just the epitomy of cool which Aliona captured perfectly. Jay wasn't a God, but it was still one of my favourite Strictly moments.
But I was always an Aliona fan, she could have been dancing with mop and bucket for all I cared.

Before she took Jay for his first grown-up haircut, it looked like she was.

Except they do have a memory of Jay's Jive, because they shat on it to praise Ore's Jive to the high heavens. Despite Ore's feet flopping all over the place and his timing being off.

For Craig that Samba was better than Claudia's Rumba.... I really thought he is the fairer of them all.

As for the op: to the surprise of many, Jay isn't in the judges mind all the time, I bet they hardly even think of him. So when another contestant dances samba the next season, the judges aren't thinking of Jay and his jive the season before.

I'll happily take your hard hat! Jill's jive will always be the benchmark - it was a routine chock full of technical content, executed beautifully. Jays jive had some good technical elements, but realistically, there wasn't that much jive content in there (bar the last 30/40 seconds).

Just my opinion, though!

There is no Jay dancing.

Why do people take offence at Ore's jive being billed just as good, if not better, than Jay's jive? I can remember at the time when one of the judges, (can't remember which one), said, "Move over, Jay", and the way people on here were reacting, it was like, "how dare they say his jive was better than Jay's. Jay did the best jive that Strictly has ever seen and nobody should ever say that someone else's was better. There will be nobody that will ever do a better jive on the show". Why on earth shouldn't people say that they preferred it? I certainly did.

Whilst Jay's jive was good, it was IMO, not as amazing and as spectacular as has been made out. For me, it will always be one of the most overrated Strictly dances. It helped that it came from nowhere because his previous two dances aren't that memorable, whereas with Ore's, it wasn't so much of a surprise because of his well-received American Smooth dance the week before.

Because it wasn't? It was frantic and had poor technique.

Also, what Len said was poor form. Not that it's the first time. The man has no tact.

As I asked in my previous post - why do people take offence at it? It's like people don't like the fact that Ore did a jive that is deemed by some to be as good, if not better than Jay's, and that nobody has the right to say that anyone can do a jive as good as Jay. Jay isn't someone who people aren't allowed to criticise in any way, shape or form.

It was just a little tactless, that's all. When you praise something, you praise it. You don't praise it by dumping all over someone else's work.

It's not a major crime or anything, but it does leave a bit of a bitter taste to what could have been a really nice compliment.

How were they dumping all over Jay's work? They didn't say anything bad about Jay's jive at the time last year, and they didn't say anything bad about it after Ore danced it. Saying "move over, Jay" isn't saying that they thought it was bad.

Len then went on to say in an interview that Jay's jive was one of his most memorable dances from any series. That monster picking on poor Jay like that!

Cue the judges picking it as a dance that can be improved upon *rolls eyes*

It is saying 'this is better' and the score said it too. It wasn't though! YouTube views for it are pretty poor and if you ask any Strictly viewer which jives they remember (and especially if you ask them next year) Ore won't be mentioned anywhere near as much as Jay and Jill if at all.
It's just a bit rude and dismissive. Jay didn't have to be mentioned. I think the judges think if they say a thing then it'll become the accepted opinion. It won't. You'd think they'd learn.
They talk nonsense though we must remember that. Len told Jay that he hadn't been convinced by his dancing until rumba week despite telling him several times that his dances were right up his alley.
It still irks them that Jay wouldn't play the Strictly game. Ore is willing to play it to the max.
