Cats are the best things! They don't argue back like humans, they don't poop on the floor, they don't want expensive meals, they always lose when you play them at chess. Yes, cats are the greatest thing in life. This is fact. Facty fact fact.

In fact, if God exists he/she/it is probably a cat!

I agree with you, although I've never played mine at chess.

One of my old cats always answered back. if I told her off she would stand her ground and do this chatter thing in disgust and walk away turning now and again to chatter to me in anger as she walked off . I don't think I have ever had a cat or dog that didn't have something rare and wonderful about them.

Same as friends really.

You don't want the afternoon I've had.

We had 5 cats up until one of them died unexpectedly on 8 November but we got a kitten on 26 November.

Since then the other 4 (not the kitten thankfully) have had sickness/the runs.

Earlier this week I was watching the telly and heard one of them in the litter tray. There was this horrendous smell and then she ran upstairs, stopping halfway to projectile vomit. She had the runs all over the kitchen, having missed the litter tray. My girlfriend kindly cleaned it up Thankfully they are all OK now, but I could smell something weird in the kitchen near the fridge today - on dragging it out there was dried liquid cat muck all under the fridge. It was a bloody nightmare to clean up.

Pretty sure if a cat wants to poo on the floor it will regardless

Also I tried playing chess once my cat jumped on the board and the pieces went everywhere

However I do love him and even though he can be a pain sometimes hes a nice cat

They're quite adept at making it very clear that if you don't get your act together, and clean out their litter tray they're keeping that option open as a very real possibility.

I get on better with cats than with people. I guess this is where my profound love for cats comes from. Cats don't want much from you.

Cats are so clean, they won't poo on the floor unless they have no other options (please let them out) I have had 2 rats this week. No blood. Don't know how she got them in and I didn't notice it outside my bedroom door!

Our Katie tells us in no uncertain terms if the litter tray isn't clean enough to put her feet in. She goes on the floor right next to it to make a point.

Cats are innocent like children, they look and feel like silky teddy bears and they stay that way forever. They're clean and loving, cheap to keep and if you've got a piece of string, they provide hours of entertainment.

Highly recommended.

Funny little devils and so full of personality. I watched a cat l had never seen before, walk up my front path, through the side gate (has a hole cut into it, to make it easier for older cats who became part of our family) walked into the back shed (with a similar hole cut into that door) came out of there, ignored food dotted around the garden, walked up to the kennel near the back door and had a look in there, and then walked to the back gate and passed through the space in the side.

Clearly looking for a cat in particular, maybe our old Tom, who passed recently, and was the neighbourhood un neautered stray until we were able to adopt him a year ago. He was determined in his search.

I know cats out and about have buddies, how cute to think that this was one of Tom's.

I doubt that if you ever had any cat or not. They poop all around at first. Gradually theybecome civilized like human.

Are they okay now? The kitten probably brought a bug in with it that it / the litter is immune to (or tolerating adequately) but has transferred it to the existing cats. If they're still not right, it would be worth talking to your vet - if you've not done so already.

But congratulations on your new arrival...
