Will Saara's lead in polls be enough?

What do you think?

From memory, Fleur led Ben in the polls, but not by the amount Saara is leading Matt by.

Is that a good indication of how the vote will go?

No, it's votes that count.

The people that actually vote love MOR music so Matt will win, but then vanish as quickly as Ben did.

I think Matts won sadly, dissapointed actually as i don't believe he deserves to win, you can't really take alot from online polls. Saara would certainly need more than the polls to give her the victory.

I guess the outcome was inevitable although it is a poor result,

No. Saara's got an absolute duffer of a song for tomorrow, Matt has his best performance of the series coming up. while Saara has been given her worse performance outside her bottom 2 appearances. Unfortunately, any excitement has been taken out of the final and no doubt Nicole will be beating her Nationalist drum again.

It's just all so predictable now which is why so many punters are not bothering to watch anymore.

Many of those punters just go and do other stuff... maybe something to consider trying. Like maybe learning the saxophone?

The Polls have been either being massively manipulated (perhaps for betting reasons or maybe because some people are sad enough to bother) or flooded with foreign support this year. You can't seriously believe that she has had a consistent 70% or so, and that was from fairly early-on? In other years, yes, someone has had a huge lead for weeks, but not this time around I feel.

I wish! Matt has won, he is the typical, dull, pretty male winner, I think will flop quicker then Leon!

James Arthur was the only decent male winner.

You clearly think you are smart and clever but you are one of the most patronising posters on these forums.

I wouldn't say that...

I think they've gone for Oh So Quiet because it was a show stopper and the song that turned things round for her on the show and people started voting for her. I also would at a guess that's the week she must have won!? I would have wanted Chandelier too, but i think it's too recent?

I wouldn't rule out a Sara win. I'm voting for Sara tonight on the app votes all of them. Simply because i think Matt will get signed anyway even if he is runner up, however i am not sure Sara would be and she needs to win to have a serious investment in to her. I think she could try lots of different routes...Sia is huge right now, that type of style would work for her. Matt, could try doing music like James Morrison? Who knows though, they are really the least commercial final acts ever...

Totally agree though, Fleur v Ben + Leon v Rhydian + Steve B v G4 + Matt v Rebecca is all proof enough that Matt stands a very good chance of winning this tonight. In all those instances, the latter always did better in the real music world and sold more. records..

Not to mention Nicole trying to stir up 'vote for own' is shameful! Matt's song choices have been perfect for the finale however Sara's haven't been. But after Brexit, Donald winning President i really think the rule book is thrown out! Anything is possible... Her duet was fab. I didn't like the other song she did. Matt's duet was really just a Nicole showcase. Take Me Home was fab though. I think Writing's On The Wall may help Matt clinch it...i think it'll be a very close result. I would be SO SO sure of a Matt win if he hadn't been in the bottom 2 last week, so that to me shows a Sara win is indeed possible.

I am fairly sure Matt will win it but i think Sara has a shot! People really seem to like her and the audience where cheering for her louder than Matt last

My guess is that she has gone for 'It's Oh So Quiet' since that was when things started to turn around for her like you said and she performed 'Chandelier' in her audition and again last week during the semi final

I'm not sure - Simon is astute and may warn her not to play such a cheap trick again

Or am I overestimating him ?

I agree and I also think her very best songs have been in the sing offs which I guess don't count.

So that leaves bjork or enough is enough, which could be accused of cheesiness ?

If the winner's song is an acoustic ballad as has been rumoured Matt will be doing two ballads while Saara will be doing an uptempo song and a ballad so it might end up swinging things in her favour depending on how the performances go. It will be interesting to see what happens.

^ This.

"It's Oh So Quiet" definitely defined the moment where she started to get more votes and support, and it was what turned things around in the competition. She got praised from the judges, she didn't get in the bottom 3, and it was the moment she just became more confident.

Besides that, I would guess that "Chandelier", "The Winner Takes It All" and "No More Tears (Enough Is Enough)" were the other contenders for her reprisal song.

Unfortunately she already sang "Chandelier" in her audition and last week. And Saara also sang "The Winner Takes It All" at Judge's Houses, so performing the same song three times is probably too repetitive.

Which left her with "It's Oh So Quiet" and "No More Tears (Enough Is Enough)", so they probably just went with the one that wasnt' "Disco" and that really was the moment she stepped it up.

Perhaps one reason Saara isn't doing The Winner Takes It All or Chandelier is because she has only just performed them? JLS and Fleur performed their semi final song in the final and their vote share took a hit. Maybe it doesn't go down well.

The Bjork song is her third highest rated performance on things like Facebook etc. Maybe the winner's single will play more to her vocals?

Very sensible post !
I think it's too close to call
Matt may well have a slim lead after the writings on the wall so it's up to saara to really deliver a knockout winners sing
I do think it's important she wins - it will not only guarantee her a record deal, it will open doors throughout Europe
