Has anyone seen this. Seems a pretty audacious piece of broadcasting by the BBC! However given Auntie general desire to avoid any kind of controversyit's harrd to imagine it being too edgy. Any reviews?

Just had a look, its on tomorrow night at 9PM ON BBC TWO. Two part series, second episode on Tuesday.

"In episode one, the ten British Muslims who represent the diversity of their faith move into their new home. As each meets and settles in, they begin to explore how their faith impacts their lives, from sleeping arrangements, cooking, and prayer to dress and culture. Topical, important and, at times, charged exchanges shine a light on what it means to be a Muslim in modern Britain."

'Make Bradford British' had a similar sort of concept.

Two female participants were discussing it on Radio 4's Woman's Hour just now. It seems the extremist is a convert who formerly went under the surname Small and boxed for England! It sounded like the aim is to paint him as a troubled young man, but it seems a bit iffy if he is dangerous enough to have had his passport withdrawn.

I'm very wary of it as they said it's made by the people behind the horribly exploitative and trashy Benefits Street.

Was fully intending to avoid this anyway but that was the clincher for me too.

Jeez, they don't want to integrate with each other never mind non-Muslims.

Let's hope I'm proven wrong though.

Who is 'they'?

I saw that ONE man wanted almost total segregation and no one else agreed with him.

That Abdul Huq guy is the problem in this day and age, you have a room here full of friendly everyday people who happen to be of Muslim faith and then you have Abdul creating his own over the top version of the faith!

I'm finding it interesting. Of course we know that not all Muslims practise their faith in the same way, but it's the first time I've seen Muslims discussing their faith and their different approaches to it with one another. I feel rather sorry for the chap who seems to take a very strict view of Islam, he's not going to make many friends but then I don't suppose he wants to unless they think the way he does.

He's brainwashed like a lot of Muslims. I have zero respect for him.

That was hilarious. They just had that discussion then he bursts into the garden with: 'Hello everyone!' in a super camp voice.

He's unreal. I bet he condones 7/7 and 9/11.

I'm glad the other housemates are balanced though.

He cites his Afro-Caribbean heritage as the reason for his homophobia and those attitudes are depressingly common in the West Indies, so laying it all at the door of Islam is rather unfair in his case.

Having said that, I do find him worryingly extreme in his views.

So here we have the people in the room showing genuine hurt and upset like everyone else about terrorism and Abdul doesn't give a toss for those that were killed in Nice! Oh yes this guy is prime candidate to carry out a terrorist attack somewhere!
