Indeed. There were lots of comments beneath Ore's videos from disgruntled Claudia and Danny fans. They have a strong social media presence.

I agree, I think Claudia AND Ore deserve a place in the final after last night. I've liked Louise a lot throughout the series, but sadly she was not great last night.

I usually disagree with the judging in most part and I always find everyone overmarked. I frankly must have missed them being meanspitired and petty towards Claudia, who by the way was who I wanted in the final along with Ore on the merit of last nights dances. I thought they both produced special quicksteps and danced in a way that I thought was deserving of them to be in that final three.

However, the level some over-invested fans are taking this is quite excessive. Purge and move on and all that. To me taking the time to go on youtube to his dances to dislike them and writing scathing comments and then do the same on his social media is excessive. Again I say it's a light entertainment show, unfairness sure I suppose I can see where people come from when they seek injustice, but that shouldn't consume people to a point where they go and effectively blame him when he's not alone in being overmarked nor is it his fault he's been put in that position and should possibly take up their ire with someone else. This year, I've been quite shocked at the level of bitterness I've seen really, it's a shame as I've felt it's been a good year for the celeb.

Nicely put. I think all of the celebs have been overmarked at some point. Why do people conveniently forget that? It's the Strictly way.

Well, it was unfair, but it suited you (and all Claudia fans, obviously), so apparently that means it was fine.

Just goes to prove that this outrage is not about some higher moral sense of justice. Just Claudia fans being petty.

Bias across the board. We all do it but at least some recognise it.

Well I went and watched it and gave it a like - because I did enjoy it, preferred it to Claudia's.

Claudia and AJ danced a great dance and connectedwith the music well, both thoroughly enjoying it. For me there was no connection/acknowledgement of the audience, they were just dancing a quickstep - great but a tad boring. Ore and Joanne interacted with the audience throughout and with each other, made me like it more.

Well, I've just had a look at both Ore's dances on the Strictly Youtube channel:

Quickstep: 140 likes 129 dislikes

AT: 137 likes 145 dislikes

I thought his QS was pretty good but his AT was an almighty pile of turd. He just stood there while Joanne did all of it. Reminded me of Ola's duffers routines, they stood there while she gyrated around them.

How presumptious...and incorrect. I was voting for Greg and switched my votes to Claudia, which will be moved to Danny if Claudia goes. Just Ore fans not seeing further than the end of their noses.

How do we know it's not Louise fans either? Or that it's the general public? I've seen plenty of comments on Strictly videos from people who are watching from abroad, so don't really have the same investment. Those people I see often, weren't really taken with either Louise or Ore's performances.

Leaves a bitter taste

I don't get how disliking a video on you tube or disparaging marks about couples dances is a big thing. I personality watch YT not to rate anything but for research or enjoyment. I certainly wouldn't watch something that doesn't interest me.

Incorrect? How?

I'm no Ore fan, but I hate injustice. This Ore witch hunt smells of it. Give the poor bloke a break, honestly. It's not his fault. All he does is turn up every Saturday trying to so a good job. Last time we've seen personal abuse like that for no reason was Natalie Gumede. That was godawful too.

lol, I love Louise, but I really can't see her provoking strong emotions in her supporters. More like "aawww, how lovely was that. Let's have another cuppa".

That's more presumption though...

Anyway, I'll leave it there. It is what it is, and we'll all have our own interpretation of it.

Completely agree.

It has really put me off, to be honest. I can't fathom taking this show so seriously, and I am truly a huge fan.

I agree. If he goes through chances of him winning are slim imo but I don't get cries of fix for the scores, Craig gave him an 8, he hasn't scored well in previous weeks I don't see a fix.

You made an assumption that I thought Greg should go to save Claudia, when it was an objective view as I felt Greg had reached the end of the road.. I like both of them. I'm not one giving Ore a hard time so please don't aim witch hunt comments in my direction. I am not a fan of his dancing or perceived bias by Darcey. Incidentally, the hate for Natalie G was far worse, so no correlation, unless you're hinting at another reason for dislike for both of them.

Until I read this thread, I didn't even realise people could or did rate YT clips.

Lol, its awful seeing some of the vitriolic comments when folk have made videos giving advice on how to do certain tasks. I'm talking really spiteful personal stuff criticising their looks.

There is no fix with Ore and Joanne, but that won't stop some on say facebook and such shouting fix, it happens in too many shows now when someone's favourite tends to not get as far as they hoped and it's easier to pass blame to other contestants, voters, and judges. I take no notice of fix allegations as they make absolutely no difference to the way I vote on such shows. I may not be too happy at first when a favourite of mine goes, but I accept it as it makes no difference to me or the Celeb/s. I have no idea why Ore is so disliked as I find him a very personable young man, and hope he can avoid another dance off and reach the final, his dancing is not the greatest but it is still well above the average as far as Strictly contestants go, and I enjoy a lot although not all of Ore and Joanne's dances.

Ah, 'tis the curse of social media, isn't it?

I don't read the comments, to be honest. I only look at things for my own enjoyment or for information.

I agree. I haven't gone onto You tube and I don't read twitter but the attitude on here of disparaging this young man and the apparent enjoyment of seeing him disliked by others saddens me.

So much so, that for the first time since about 2008 I actually voted last night. I registered with the BBC - something I have resisted doing - simply to cast 3 votes for Ore. I did it simply because the guy is getting so much flack for reasons that aren't specified and as far as I can tell justified. I wanted to redress the balance a little.

It doesn't matter what you had "objectively" decided - the rules state that the decision should be based on the dance off alone. The rules were broken. Where was the outcry? You are justifying the abuse Ore is getting by giving it a reason of moral high ground. "People just don't like injustice". All I'm saying is that it was proven a few weeks ago that people don't mind unfairness if they don't mind the outcome. I'm not trying to accuse you personally of anything. Just think your justification is not correct.
