And there we have proof! Too defensive, your reply should have just said, "Viewing distances matter so shut up Mr73!".
People coming on here asking for advice generally want it to come from people with some knowledge of the subject. You may find that there is some brand bias, I'm partial to Panasonic as that's what I've used, bought, sold, installed & viewed for many years, Nigel Goodwin is very familiar with Sony kit (from memory) & will often talk in depth about issues affecting them (although I believe he also does repairs on other brands too), It's kind of expected when people specialise in certain things. When it comes to general info like: Best speakers positions for surround sound Viewing distances Is 4K worth it Is 3D any good Then the info will be generally non-partisan because these things affect all brands and choices equally. I'm not being defensive at all. None of the guys in the industry that post here, many multiples of times more than myself, have anything to gain by doing so except perhaps talking about things they generally know quite a lot about, hell they might even enjoy the warm feeling of just being able to help people or dispel myths about areas of home entertainment. If you don't like the way people have responded to your questions, maybe they do look too much like ads rather than genuine queries & if you keep getting the same sort of answers why do you keep asking, what will likely be the same people, questions unless you actually value some of the responses. |
