Mum's dancing at the wedding at its finest, wasn't it?

It looked like, after one too many glasses of Chardonnay when the music came in, she got the centrepiece from the table, put it on her head and went "Ay ay ay, Alfie, let's dance!", dragging her young cousin to the dance floor while the rest of the family looked on bemused.

Yeah, that was it.

She had all the dance steps done well IMO but it was still very very boring.

Agree. It was actually the very opposite of mum dancing at a wedding.

She had reasonably good technique, but it lacked any crispness, musicality and was too restrained.

Whereas mum dancing at a wedding lacks technique but doesn't lack restraint!

Louise could have possibly have done with a few glasses of champers that those mums get at a wedding to loosen her up a bit.

I agree with your first part and rather than boring as such I would say it was a week 4 dance. It wasn't great but looking back on it on youtube I didn't think it was horrendous either.

However, I thought her Tango was very good.

I thought Louise danced it well enough, I just didn't enjoy it .

Hahaha, that's a great analogy Ann. It looked awkward and a bit stiff in some places. And a drink or two would have worked wonders but just one or two glasses, not one or two bottles as in Katie Derham levels.

Yeah I'd agree. A good dance but it didn't feel like a semi final dance, really.

Me too. I don't know why. She comes across as a nice, lovely woman and I bet she is really considerate.

The feeling I got was that Kevin danced on his own but he had to have Louise there as its "the rules"!

Did she really nail the technique? You'll know better than me, but I really couldn't see the forward-backward hips/double-bounce action ... as explained/demonstrated by Ian Waite, anyway . She seemed to be moving her hips side-to-side salsa-fashion, though it was hard to see under all that skirt swishing.....

There was no wow factor at all.

It was actually better than I'd expected but when a samba in the semi-final is labelled 'boring' then something is very wrong!

I'm also a bit baffled by all this talk about how lovely Louise is as a reason for her to win. Not saying she isn't a nice person, I have no idea either way, but I've seen nothing to suggest that she is any nicer than the others. Danny has probably shown the most obvious evidence of being lovely to be honest!

Proper laugh moment there

She mostly has very good technique, has come along well performance wise and has a likeability and normalness factor. Not a bad combination.

The Samba was never going to be a good dance for her, I think we all knew that but after seeing a pretty good Tango being possibly overshadowed by awful theming and costume I threw her the votes.

Well I'm truly in the minority for this one but I have to say, guilty pleasure dancing is my fave and Louise really delivered! And Kevin was in his element

Fun, vivacious, bubbly - she had it all going on! The feet and legs were working great, covered the floor well and seemed in the spirit of the dance

Not the most out there number, but seeing as she had huge confidence issues for the first couple of weeks, this is a dramatic transformation and hope they keep it up for the final, if they gat there fingers crossed

Sorry. Honestly I like her but I think the others have more of the oomph factor going for them.

If you have a look at this video, from 3.30 on Kevin starts doing batucadas and Louise is doing something very different.

I wouldn't say she nailed it at all. I hated the skirt swishing too. I thought it was one of Louise's weakest weeks. But it wasn't mum dancing. People underestimate the work put into a routine.

It was as boring as all her other dances. I cannot see how she ever got this far.

Well spotted Louise is almost just marking it on the spot there.

I thought it was the worst dance of the night by a considerable margin

Self conscious and lacking any personality

I am not underestimating her work or the amount of effort that she put into it but, to me (and that's only my opinion) it looked ridiculous. Granted it wasn't her dance and she did what she could but I just thought it was embarrassing.
