Danny and Oti's American Smooth
who me?
11-12-2016
I loved this dance so much. It had a beautiful lyrical quality. Darcy has asked for stillness from Danny in his dances. We got it in this but that was not mentioned. Some posters have said he can only do smash and grab type dances (maybe not quite that expression) and he showed last night with this dance he can do slow and beautiful now.

While I think it's fair a celeb with no experience should be given leeway and praised for improvements, I also think a celeb with dance experience should be praised accordingly for improvements they make and Danny has improved a lot from the start.

I felt last night that this dance was my favourite ever on strictly and after one or two re-watches I feel the same. Stunningly beautiful.

I did love that dance, but the end bit made me go for a few seconds, that woman is fearless, trust or no trust in your partner

Haha! Everyone o
in my sitting room suddenly sat bolt upright and mouths were agape, it was not pretty!

I loved it and loved the absolute wow factor of that jump/dive/leap.

Favourite ever SCD dance. I know everyone is biased to their faves and Danny is a total ringer but that was insane. The fact it got the same score as Ore's AT is

I really enjoyed it, but I still think there wasn't enough stillness in the dance. It's my only critique of oti's choreography, I think there could be a few more quiet moments

I am not saying it was an AT but then none have been this series but it was a work of art.

This moment?!

Although my favourite part was the section that went into a handstand. I like the lift that Darcy didn't as it did flow for me. Oh and I loved the mirroring across the bridge at the end. And the fact that Danny started the dance doing one of my knee exercises...swinging it gently like that is very good for a sore knee.

It was stunning. That last lift was brilliant. It could have gone so wrong but thankfully it didn't.

Even if Danny and Oti don't win, they have been the standouts of this year.

I loved the dance, but that handstand was bizarre.

my favourite dance of the night, along with claudia's quickstep. loved some of the contemporary aspects they included but didn't like the handstand or oti hurling herself odd the roof at the end, both were mis judged moments in an otherwise sublime dance. if i squinted my eyes, danny could have passed for gene kelly.

I thought it was amazing and the music was superb.

The 'down in a crab' position for a few beats too long was odd too.

And the last 'throw yerself off a roof' bit was totally unnecessary, strange and dangerous.

I thought it was stupid, and poor Danny staggered a bit in an ungraceful way.

Mind I don't like contemporarehh much, and it was a good dance.

It was stunning and required complete trust in Danny and he delivered.

Even without the final leap, it was a stunner of a routine. Another piece of outstanding choreography. I feel as if I predict almost all the routines (well, a couple of Kevin's were a pleasant surprise) but never anything from Oti.

Gosh really? I saw plenty of stillness I'm surprised.

I agree...even though we'd seen little bits of practise footage it came as a beautiful surprise, she's been wonderful this series. They both have.
