Lifts in an a American Smooth
Only three lifts are allowed in an American Smooth however Danny and Oti had four lifts.
How did the judges not pick up on this? Earlier in the series, Daisy got penalised for a lift when it shouldn't have been there but not Danny. If it was Claudia the judges would have said something. |

Because the leap at the end dosn't count as a lift. He didn't lift her off the ground.

They didn't count Claudia falling out of a window into AJs arms and being carried about as a lift when she did that, and that was in a dance (waltz) where lifts aren't allowed at all. Also Claudia's feet quite clearly both came off the floor early in her rumba and it wasn't mentioned. Heck, two backing dancers flung Claudia into a supported aerial somersault in her jive at Blackpool and it wasn't picked up on. I'm also 50-50 on whether she was lifted at the end of her Viennese Waltz (the camera angle makes it very hard to see if she keeps her toe trailing on the floor but it doesn't look like it).
"Illegal" lifts have been happening all series from pretty much all the couples. They probably just picked on poor Daisy that one time to make it look like they still cared. |

Yes, a leap isn't a lift as Danny didn't actually do any work to make her come off the floor.
