Rinder's grandparents were on the show twice and actually spoke to Tess, Louise's famous husband is constantly in the audience and was in a VT, Claudia's parents were in a VT and have been picked out a few times (including last night), Melvin's entire family were in a VT, Lesley's famous work colleagues were constantly picked out, Laura's adorable dog got an entire VT about it, Ed's famous wife was constantly cut to, Daisy's mum was mentioned and shown a few times and she actually dedicated a dance to her dead grandfather, Greg's cute kid got a VT, they never bloody stop showing shots of Danny's fiance clapping and crying and wringing her hands,
But say hello to Ore's parents and suddenly it's a MASSIVE PUSH.

ore could be the supprise given that BBC breakfast people seem to win when they get to the final with the exception of Suzanna, he isn't the best dancer but if he has the public behind him that's all he needs in the final, if this is strong he could pull out a win

They were pushing hard for Ore. I think they thought he was the underdog, a lot of people did seem to think it was his week to go, certainly the panel on ITT. I think they overdid the pushing of one dancer over the others. I'm not sure if it's a benefit long term to do that as people resent it when it's so overdone ...but certainly on the night I bet a fair few were swayed by the line they took and his lovely parents having flown all the way to see him, it almost swayed me, they were adorable sitting there willing him on. His dancing didn't though. I thought the wrong two were in the dance-off.
But onwards and upwards, I'm hoping for even handed audience manipulation from now on from the show. I thought there was a bit of a massive push, as usual, for Danny, but there you go. I didn't rate his laboured salsa at all, and didn't like his AS, and last week he got a ridiculous score for a very faulty dance. But there ye go. I'm not easily swayed. I too, hope for some evenhandedness, but I'm not depending on it. |

Or Ore's wife and Danny's wife only cried this week watching him. They all have family...but on the night when they seemed to overmark Ore on a dance with mistakes that a lot of people thought wasn't as good as others, they also made a big deal of his never danced before not even at his wedding ...twice.... (the judges and then Claudia) and then made a big deal of his parents flying over for the first time to see him dance.
All of that would have been fine, nice even, if it had been even handed but it wasn't. |

Given both Louise's dances were much weaker, Ore had to be marked higher than her. Her samba was (Ed) Balls, but they got 9s! Pure joke!

I give up. Ore's family travel from Nigeria to watch him dance and you think that was manipulation. They, and his wife, cried with happiness and you think that was over-egging the pudding. Claudia mentioned that he didn't even dance at his own wedding and you blame Ore for her saying that.

I thought Len's big speech about how he'd never danced before and the others have was a little forced. Other than that family visits and "never danced before" and "overmarked" are practically Strictly bingo card squares. If you don't get all three at least once per week you get your licence fee back.
I wouldn't want to do the beeb out of that...they deserve it for Planet Earth 2 alone

I am very tempted to vote for Ore before seeing the dances on Saturday in the final at this rate as I really think he is the most improved of the 3 finalists. Louise had the worse performances on Saturday in the semis but the GBP polled her higher than Claudia and Danny - yet there is no where near the hatred being spewed in her direction on social media!! |

Agree 100% with you. I am gobsmacked by some of the vitriol being thrown at Ore here and in other places - the Strictly Facebook page post nice comments about all the finalists and out come the Ore haters - though there are many defenders as well. Why can't people accept that Ore outpolled at least Danny on Saturday night to get to the final so a decent percentage of the voting GBP obviously though he should be one of the final 3 from what they saw - and I was one of them as I chose to throw all my votes to Ore - though I considered splitting them with Claudia for a while.

If it wasn't for the Judges saving Claudia in week 9 over Greg who out danced her in the DO, she would have been sitting at home watching the Semi's on TV. |

What relevance has all this 'never danced before' stuff got also? If there's a journey then yes, it's relevant. Here he is week one showing Melvin O'Doom levels of dance awkwardness and look at him now! But Ore was always good ... in fact I think he was much better and had his best dances earlier so there is no journey. How on earth did Claudia etc know that Ore didn't dance at his own wedding?? Do you think it could be because Ore has mentioned it once or twice? |

Do we have to know that they flew in from Nigeria though? Can't they just be in the audience like other Mum's/Dads? What relevance has it? Why are they mentioned and made a big deal of?

Joanne mentioned on ITT that Ore's wife had told her that Ore didn't dance at his own wedding. Now. I've answered all your questions. Have you changed your mind about Ore? No? Colour me surprised. |
