What's your opinion of Hollyoaks from 1-10?

Jumping on the bandwagon I thought it would be great to see how people are feeling about Hollyoaks. It's been a very hit and miss year for me personally.

I'm really enjoying it now but I've only just started watching again. The new McQueens are great, way better than the Porsche/Cleo/Celine intake and also continuity and aftermath has improved.

Storylines are starting to get more believable, we just need to get rid of Cameron now and let people start living past their 20s. Still not as good as it was in 2007 though. 7/10.

I went with 8/10. I'm really enjoying the show right now - even characters like Freddie (whom I've never had a problem with) are interesting me. Loving the Nightintale's (bar Mac), they're my favourite current 'pub family' along with the Carter's. A majority of the stories are interesting me (bar the custody plot, Ste needs a serious rest). The only characters I don't like are Diego (because he bores me), Liam, Mac and Ryan. I'm enjoying the new McQueen's, and also Warren and Sienna (hoping they're not breaking them up). No matter how hard I try, I am struggling to dislike Nick as (if I were to forget the consent story happened) he's a nice guy, good character and good actor. I like the pace of the show, I think it's better being fastpaced and I look forward to every episode. I don't judge it as seriously as ED, CS or EE but still enjoy it just as much (well, a lot more than CS, which I don't like! ). The Loveday's are great, and have been for almost two years!

However, I was going to give it a 9/10, but had to go a bit lower. I'm still massively pissed off at Celine's death, as she was my favourite current female and I feel she could have done more. I'm also quite annoyed at Joe's death, as well as Cameron's story, as he was one of my favourite characters back in 2014, and I adored his relationship with Celine. I didn't mind him killing Sam and Danny as it was supposed to be an accident and I thought it added to his character a bit, but making him a fullon serial killer was the wrong move in my opinion.

Sorry about the long post, I kept it as short as I could!

This is a really interesting post- I'm in agreement with the majority of your points but would probably only put the show at about a six for consistency. I agreee that both the Lovedays and Nightingales have been revolutionary; however I am pleased Joanne and Sonia are done with now. I'm not a huge fan of Mac and Marnie if I'm honest and I feel that Neeta is really being wasted. Personally I would prefer the kids (James included) Neeta and freddie to run the pub. Loads of scope for stories and I like the fact they all have a bond.

I'm in the same mind with Cameron. He had so much potential- him and Lockie but the writers have taken him totally the wrong direction. Personally the Lomaxes for me as a family are tired- Ste included. It's really hurt Harry being with him too when again he could have been a good story.

Nick Ryan Joel and Adam are all interesting me. Again there is lots that could be done with them. Maxine however is just going round in circles. I'd really like to see Amy and Grace used better and warren and Sienna- I thought I why they did with Grace and Darcy has put the character back a bit.

None of the current Mcqueens are exciting me. I'd be happy with Mercedes and JP being the final two.

I agree with some bits and not others. I really dislike the lovedays. Sometimes simone is ok with other characters in the village away from the family. Really do not like the real lisa and the way she fluffs her hair.

Nick, I see what you say and .i think its intentional so that when it all comes out and the informed consent comes up again peopke will be split on whether the "nice" guy did anything wrong.

Tis a bit sad about Celine but she will no dout not be dead

I like the nightingales too James is fascinating, The Mac stuff interesting, I don't hate him yet but soon. Think the nightingales work better now that Mac and Marnie are back together.

Don't mind the ste storyline but they need to bring him back round to being a good character and maybe start to move him away from being a druggie its getting repetitive and boring now.

I did 8/10 too

In fact so far I have done 8/10 on all. ED will get 8.5 due to ben giving the option. i think all are above the 8 slightly and all seem to have good stuff coming up

Only watched since July but I would give it a 9. It is my favourite, as my name suggests.
