Matt getting the Paul Akister treatment from Cowell

Cowell's shift in recent weeks is staggering and he can barely bring himself to give Matt any praise. I noticed he compliments song choice and production with less emphasis on the vocal.

None of the three finalists do anything for me but I hope Matt wins simply because Cowell is a scumbag.

I dunno, there are lots of people on here now saying that it's a fix for Matt to win.

Not sure if a double bluff from Cowell would make that much of a difference to the vote. If Matt was still the chosen one they wouldn't have given Saara so much backing and would have made her sing with Shane Filan.

Yeah but we see Nicole every week and she has already performed on the show so her dueting is a bit same old. Plus it would have been written into her contract that she duets in the final.

Its all a bit odd. Matt was ridiculously over hyped for the first few weeks, had a bit more of a mixed reaction for a week or two and now Cowell is acting like he's been ripping the heads off of kittens.
Something has happened for Cowell to do such an about turn on his chose one so quickly

I can only guess something has happened behind the scenes. Perhaps Matt has refused to be tow the line or has challenged some of the producers' decision making. If he has then good for him. When the happens the contestant is normally hung out to dry and labelled a whinger.

The treatement of Paul akister was worse than anything I've seen this year. Matts has had a easy ride compared.

That year, he was the strongest hands down but was shafted by Mel b with poor choice of songs. All she cared about was Andrea. They also edited his VT's badly by making him look like a miserable sod. Simons comments were also clearly scripted to get him out and it worked.

Paul has a great voice and would have been a worthy winner of the show. He's head and shoulders above all of this year's finalists and quite a few previous winners. I agree his treatment was dreadful.

I honestly think it was just how the competition went. There isn't a "behind the scenes" reason or anything like that.

Matt eas really hyped for the first weeks because he was one of the best at that time. He came strong from the whole Audition/6 Chair Challenge/Judge's Houses and performed very well, having stronger performances than most of the top 12/11/10 during the first couple weeks.

However, at that point a lot of other acts started to step it up.

Saara started to step it up since "It's Oh So Quiet", Emily had her moment a week after with "Creep", 5 After Midnight was also getting "better" and doing very entertaining performances. The whole Honey G "hype" kept going,

While at this was happening, and everyone was stepping up their game, Matt stayed at the same level, still being "good", but not really showing an improvement since he was already "good" since week 1.

I think that's why he started to be more harsh on him, because there wasn't any improvement with him.

Paul's sing off song when he left was the best performance of that particular series yet the idiots still sent him home

Read somewhere Simon wants Saara to win but the producers want Matt to win .

Simon was very complimentary to Matt after his solo last night and said the vocal was good etc. I agree though Simon was very cold towards Matt some weeks.Fingers crossed for Matt because he's simply the best
