Kylie

Her chart career might be dead and buried (says it all when the newest song on her VT was from about 2010) but can't deny that she's a legend with star quality.

Stage presence is on a different level to most current acts, and I've always thought her live voice isn't as bad as the critics suggest.

The song suits her (in the low register) but I've always thought she's over-rated and quite a weak nasal whiny voice most of the time.

I love Kylie so much, I really hope that some day she can have more hits, but for some reason, legends like her don't really have much chart success.

Not for me I am afraid. Should have stuck to Neighbours.

Streaming has killed of any chance of legends having a big hit, Robbie Williams has had decent sales on iTunes with 'Love My Life' and good play on the likes of Radio2, in any other era that would be a solid top10, if not a top5...but instead its only hit no 33.

that said Kylie hasn't had a decent tune since 'All The Lovers' so can't complain about lack of success really.

Yeah, bloody streaming. Even Emeli Sande didn't chart very high with her comeback which was surprising considering all the success she had before.

if Kylie is a legend then what does that make Billie Holiday, Peggy Lee, Aretha Franklin, Streisand ?

You should have stuck to watching Neighbours instead of posting such crap on here. You know she left Neighbours 30 years ago and has been hugely successful since then?

Ah who doesn't love some Kylie. I was dancing to "The One" two nights ago

She's incredible, I've seen her live at least 4 times and she commands that stage, yet humble and grateful at the same time. She knows she isn't going to be on Radio 1 anymore and in the digital age, chart hits don't make money anymore. She has built up a fanbase in many countries over the years that ensure the ticket sales to her gigs and a reputation and affection with the British Public means she continues to book plenty of TV appearances. One of our best Aussie imports

She has made some brilliant pop songs over the years but careers close for them all eventually .

The last older female act outwith kylie and madonna who had extended success was probably Cher who was 52 when she sang believe and got quite a few hits after that

In your opinion...all music is personal taste. Some like Kylie some don't.

As somebody who's seen her live multiple times I can assure you that she can indeed sing, and very well.

Go watch her operatic notes at the end of Your Disco Needs You... then say this again.

She has been a pop icon for 3 decades for a reason.

The intro heavily overrated her; She has no star-quality and she is remembered for hits & success from over 20 years ago. Never acknowledged Kylie as a music force.

then who exactly do you consider as a music force then?

she was having hits all over the world including America just 15 years ago not over 20.
she has continued to have hits in the years that followed she had a top 3 single 6 years ago and a top twenty single just 2 years ago.

her last studio album got to number 2 in the charts.

she continues to sell out venues in numbers that her younger counterparts can only ever dream of.

the into certainly didn't and couldn't overate the fact she's had a very successful career.

some people's delusion totally baffles me, I can't stand madness I think there dreadful but they clearly too are very successful in their own right

I wasn't keen on Kylie or Madness to be honest, they're just not my style at all.

I like Madness when they're performing their greatest hits (and they were the first band I was in to really), but indifferent to the new stuff

Kylie isn't really my thing either, but her charisma is obvious to me
