That reminds me of a test match v Australia, when Mark Waugh said to an english player, 'You're not the best batsman in the side' and the reply came back, 'You're not even the best batsman in your family'
Brilliant. I assume there is another Waugh who plays cricket/

Steve Waugh- substantially better than his brother.

Well, frankly I was just surprised and disappointed that he didn't leap up and lop Joanne's head clean off with last year's light-sabre, and stand with his foot on her bleeding corpse, declaiming

"THERE CAN BE ONLY ONE!!!"

That would have pleased the bashers!
I think if she beats him next week we may see the highest kick he's ever produced

Thought it was lovely! He actually looked shocked he and Louise weren't in the DO too. He was sweet about Ore and Jo upstairs too.

more cricket wit:
McGrath: “Why are you so fat?”
Brandes: “Because every time I f*** your wife, she gives me a biscuit.”

I shall SO use that at some point in real life .

I thought it was lovely - particularly as he didn't know that he and Louise were safe at that point

the reaction was an act in reality he probably hates the fact that he still has to battle his sister& its not obious he's the top Clifton or the golden boy
Siblings can love each other but also be fierce rivals so sure he will go all out in the final but still be pleased for her if she did win.

It was very sweet, I agree but people will complain about him no matter what he does.

In fairness I thought that was lovely he was so pleased for his sister and in fairness I don't mind her it Ore I can't stand. I would be happy if Louise won as much as she should have gone tonight as I love Oti but Danny looked far too pissed off to be the dance off I fear that will upset some.

Kevin apparently switched to Latin precisely because he and Jo had previously partnered each other and because after they both moved onto having different dance partners, he switched to Latin as he did not wish to compete against his sister.

Being on Strictly must be quite an odd experience for them. They must have formed an extra close bond when they were dance partners to each other and obviously know each others strengths and weaknesses very well. They have not competed against each other since then - until they both signed up to Strictly - which is the very experience that they avoided in their youth.

There must be real mixed emotions there for them as they find themselves in even closer competition now. It must be difficult - and yet also somehow rather good fun - to compete against your sibling... and just imagine how much more challenging it would be if Karen had reached the final too. An emotional rollercoaster for them all, I think.

That has to be Nasser. (Was it Nasser?)

That reaction from Kevin was my favourite of the night. Jo was a backing dancer in his first series, went out on Halloween during his second, sat out graciously last year, has always been so supportive and finally she's deservedly in the Final with Ore getting to show just what she can do. Like you all I just loved how thrilled Kevin was for her.
Well said! (Sorry, had to chop the rest of your post as I would prefer Danny to win!)

I think the people who have managed to somehow twist Kevin's reaction into yet more ridiculous Clifton bashing need to have a long hard think about how they'd react in that situation if it were their sibling having success. I think the bashing says a lot more about the posters in question than it does about Kevin or Joanne...

My argument with that is that 3 family members in one show, a Godfather who is a judge and no professionalism ensues. Yes, I do believe that reaction was inappropriate and highlighted just how troublesome it is having this cosy, family section. The family's domination has caused rifts with the public and I blame whoever allowed this ridiculous idea to go ahead, naively believing the public would enjoy the 'friendly' rivalry. No chance with the ambitious players involved.

Len isn't Kevin's godfather.

Oh dear. I'll put on me tin hat.

Len's not Kev's Godfather, and neither is Bruno Kev's Dad.

There are many MANY couples on the show, so you're objecting to ONE extra sister.

I think a bit of perspective might help.

Hahah at least you admit it. Must admit I've said a couple of things over the weeks and wondered if it would fly

I am betting none of us will be too bothered about any of this or who wins in the end come Christmas.

I was applying a bit of tongue in cheek but failed. I'm surprised with how long that rumours gone around, Len hasn't started charging for his services

It is indeed...popcorn all out. Tonight was a bit of a damp squib in the end. I thought there would be tears and tantrums
