Good on you Brendan!

It doesn't matter who the judges are, people will always think they are wrong if they criticize their favourite celeb. Change all 4 next year and it will be exactly the same, people moaning that they are biased against this one or that one.

And I take it Brendan is finished with Strictly? Doing a James Jordan wont exactly help him, and he is wrong anyway. He should know that the public vote for their favourite, the dancing has very little to do with it, in the later stages anyway.

"The problem is, with Kevin dancing beside her, he's so excitable on the floor that it can make Louise look less so."

Very much agree with this. Kev can be a bit hyper which is fine with the right partner but it only highlights Louise's more restrained approach. I don't feel they were well matched (not that it's harming their votes).
Just read Brendan's thoughts, as a pro and current dancer, very very honest, but he's actually really called the judges out for their favouritism for Louise, and over critiquing others, when massive mistakes where made and overlooked!

That on others contestants, they picked on and her they gave tens, asking what when she does get it right does she get a 12? Same with Ore he slipped, a little slip but he clearly did....

Nice to read an honest opinion, and it got me thinking maybe we don't need one new judge maybe four new ones..... clearly the ones in it pick their favourites from the start, and they could fall over and get a ten.
Well we the public certainly fell for it this year...they've got the final 3 they wanted, and I predicted it about 5 weeks ago.
Sure there is favouritism......but not just towards louise AS LAST NIGHT PROVED.

Well said, Brendan. Thanks for having the courage to voice what so many viewers are thinking.

My big question is why are the judges doing this? Does it really matter to them who wins? I liked Louise a lot until it became clear that for the judges she walks on water. Same with Ore, his AT was MEH, yet he scores tens. Claudia does the most wonderful quickstep and its marked down.

WHY OH WHY? Anybody know?

'the right people?'

who would that be, exactly?

Wow, that is disappointing. I did rather like Brendan. While I can understand over invested fan's moaning, publicly slagging off your colleagues is something else. Very unpleasant.

On second thought - maybe he is just playing his part in the producers scheming for viewers. Controversy creates interest, strong emotions, and investment in the show. Which all translates into higher viewing figures.

Brendan seems to agree with a lot of posters on here - myself included.”

Brendan and James Jordan think that it's Ore that is being pushed, compared to those on here who think Louise.

We all have favourite though, judges included. A judge may have a favourite because in their opinion that person dances the way they like to see a dance danced. Its not an exact science and at least having 4 judges who look at a dance from at least 3 different perspectives eliminates some of the taste bias.

That says more about the bias of the fans than it does of the judges though.”

it's good that someone has spoken out. But don't feel resentment towards Louise or Ore. It's not their fault.

Personally, this debacle has made me glad I'm away next weekend and will miss the final because I'm not that bothered any more.

You're possibly right. Whilst people are criticising Brendan it's worth remembering that Karen often questions the judges marks on Choreography Corner week after week, albeit maybe in a more subtle way.

It's also worth remembering that the judges themselves often question each other's marks and more often than not give different marks for the same dance!!!
Anyone would think they all had slightly different opinions and marked accordingly.
I wonder if that's why the programme has a panel of judges, each with a selection of marking paddles?
Brendan has been mooted as a possible future judge. Maybe he'd rate some couples more highly than other judges too? I guess that would be inevitable...

Not sure about JJ but Brendan quite clearly states that Louise was over marked in her tango and also says she hasn't developed much and her performances are missing excitement. I would say that's exactly what a lot of people on here are saying.

There really wasn't much in it. Claudia wasn't really marked down for her QS. She scored a ten from 2 judges who gave Ore the same score. She scored a 9 from one judge who gave Ore the same score. She scored one less from one judge overall. As for Louise she got no 10s at all for her second dance. So if anyone was 'marked down' it was Louise.

No surprises there. There is an old adage in dance circles that says if you ask 4 dance teachers a question you will get 5 opinions.

The two best couples were in the dance off. I don't blame the judges but those who are running the show. Two years running they have forced a contestant on to the public in the final.

Louise was not marked down. I agree with Brendan that the samba was very average and came no way near the one done by Danny and Oti. Normally they would have said that it was a shame but it just wasn't her dance.

A very interesting read. He's basically calling Louise a bit flat and dull which, as nice as comes across, is probably true.

As soon as I read that, I figured he won't be back next year but I get the impression that he's had enough.

For some reason it's the Clifton siblings who are favoured.

Basically Brendan's leaderboard:

Danny
Claudia
Ore
Louise

Which is I believe is VERY RIGHT.
