Indeed. These days every time you dare to mention a famous person's sexuality you have an army of people having a go at you saying "Why does it matter? It's 2016, no one cares anymore!". It's code for "this makes me really uncomfortable, please get back in the closet and stay there".

It is, which is a great development BUT they did a good job keep Saara's fiancée off screen and Fake Matt has done an even better job not coming out of the closet... yet.

A bit presumptuous! How can you possibly know what makes others uncomfortable? I'm guessing that most mature people in this day and age dont care about sexuality because it's not a big deal to anybody who is just hoping that the best singer will win the x factor.

Ha Ha love this lol ❤️

Butcness lol

It's the first Xfactor where although I was hoping for a Saara win when it came down to it Matt had the better performances and I was happy for either of them to win. I actually cared about both contestants.

Matt's duet with Nicole was just breathtaking and I LOVE his version of The Writing Is On The Wall. I really wish Matt the best of luck and wish him every success. And if he is with Freddy or Jordan then I hope that he's happy. 😊

Why does him having a girlfriend in the past mean that he's not bisexual? LesbianGayBisexualTransgender. I'm not saying Matt is bisexual, just that the 'B' in LGBT doesn't mean gay.

Matt, to my knowledge, hasn't commented on any of the rumours and speculations. So one confirmed LGBTQ finalist, and one rumoured who might be or might not be.

Harsh but hilarious!

I love how well Saara has done. As she is the only contestant who has talked about her sexuality she's the only one I can comment on - but for the narrow minded British public to take a bisexual foreigner to their hearts, that's quite something!

I follow Freddy on snapchat and he and Matt are always together. They are VERY close. Freddy always talks to the camera about how much he loves Matt and begs for votes etc. They're certainly very good friends but I think there could definitely be something more there.

Freddy is without a doubt gay (he's not confirmed it himself but he so is lol). Matt I am not so sure but it wouldn't surprise me.

as far as I know its the 1st time both acts are LBGT so yes

I have a reliable gaydar and my assessment of Matt is that he is very much a gay man.

Not that I give a shit. He's a bland smarmy pretty boy who had no business winning.

Yes maybe maybe Matta nd Freddy are close but they have just got a bromance going on they are like brothers. I don't believe Matt is gay so therefore I think this thread is wrong.

Exactly this.

to Pie-eyed: If sexuality doesn't matter, why does discussing it matter?

'Bromance'

It is quite clear to anybody who actually wants to pay attention that Matt is gay, it's now just a case of whether or not he comes out.

Matt doesn't count because he hasn't identified as LGBT. It's not up to you and others on here to ascribe a sexuality to him.

Matt was interviewed by Dan Wooton, who is gay, for The Sun and said he didn't kiss Freddy and they're not in a relationship.
