I'm afraid a petition will achieve nothing, but I agree, Claudia was undermarked and should have been in the final.

Don't start blaming Will Young for there not being 4 people in the final! It wouldn't have taken Einstein to just not have a vote off one week and then you could have had 4 people in the final.

Anyway the judges are probably glad there are only 3 in the final, as they clearly wanted Claudia out, who actually deserved to be in the final.
Well it IS because of Will's decision to leave that the public is being deprived of a four-couple final. But I agree that the BBC could have made an effort to compensate for the fact that one of the people they hired failed to perform by cancelling the dance off that week. I think they didn't want to put themselves to that much trouble though.
It's a real pity that one couple has been deprived of a final place they deserved and we won't get to see their showdance. But the public knew the score: both Claudia and Louise were at the bottom of the leaderboard. They could have made Claudia safe. They chose Louise.

Do people genuinely believe that the voting problems only affected Danny and Claudia?

I voted for both Ore AND Claudia at the weekend and had problems for both of them. There are conspiracy theories and then just out and out lying and the idea that the voting only worked against Danny and Claudia is just a lie. But yeah, start a petition because you didn't like the result - that'll go well, I bet.

Some Posters on here are just afraid a petition will affect the future of SCD rather than disagreeing with an unfair result.

In that case it would still have been Danny or Claudia leaving.
Maybe but the public vote may have been different without the knowledge of the safety net.

Exactly right. Plus, it's only a show no matter who wins it, and in my opinion only Claudia for me was the weakest of the four Celebs left in, so her going was right. I used my free votes for Ore and Joanne and had loads of trouble at first getting those votes through, so the voting troubles would have effected all four couples surely, making the result outcome probably about right. If venting by getting a petition going helps some, then that's what they will do, I won't be signing it though.

The word fix has lost all meaning by this point.
It's been used and abused where it's now become a joke that simply means - I didn't get what I want.

Me too, although I thought Craig was the only one who was consistent with his marking on Saturday, but I'd also like some kind of an enquiry as to why you couldn't vote online for the first 10 minutes the vote was open AND why Danny and Claudia's telephone lines were not working properly for the first 10 minutes - this is actually a very serious question imo.
I've seen it mentioned a few times already that all lines were affected.
My mother voted for Ore and it took about 10 minutes just to get through one vote.

If the judges were trying to save Ore then they messed up by allowing there to be a tie for 3rd, then Louise clearly must have got the votes to finish above both Claudia and Danny. The judges can only do so much, the public did the rest, unless people are mad at them too for having their own opinions?.

It's not meant to be a four person final, the whole idea of Strictly is to have a three person final. That's the plan. That's how it's been from the beginning.

The reason they added an additional star is to allow someone to drop out, because when someone did several series ago they ended up with a two person final and that didn't work. So they added a spare and when people drop out because of injury, family bereavement or the such it's all good. They still get a three person final as they planned.

It's when no one drops out (as has happened since) that they get stuck with a four person final. That's not the plan, that's an aberration.

It's like the middle Sunday at Wimbledon, the plan isn't to have one but if it rains a lot and they get behind they are forced to have one. But people shouldn't moan saying "it's the sunny weathers fault we are being deprived of a middle Sunday because that just means all's well..

And still the fact remains that if Will hadn't dropped out there would be a four-person final.

What I found particularly cunning was the way in which the judges figured out that giving Louise and Claudia exactly the same marks at the bottom of the leaderboard would result in Louise (and more importantly Kevin Clifton, who is controlling them, along with his wife and sister!!!!) getting a massive sympathy vote and being saved.
Meanwhile, despite being undermarked in what everyone who liked her best can see was a really obvious way, the public somehow didn't vote to overturn this injustice, condemning Claudia to the dance off against Danny. Thank God so many people here have seen through their cunning plan. Don't take off those tin-foil hats! The Cliftons' mind-control rays may still get through...

Wow The Clifton's control the BBC now do they? Who knew a family of ballroom dancer's from Grimsby would accumulate such power.

ETA - I think Swampster's post was ironic - at least I hope it was!

I've just taken the time to actually read the petition. What a whining mess it is.

No fans of any couple could get through at one point. Big mistake not saying that rather than just Claudia and Danny fans.

Think I will start one now because I am sure once Len gave Louise the side eye and Craig was mean to Ore!

If there were genuinely problems in voting for Ore and Louise then fair enough, but this thread is the first I've heard of it. That is the key factor in all of this really.

As for the judges, well to be honest I think they should be ashamed of themselves for manipulating the scores but that's been true for many years, and especially shocking this year.

Sadly it seems that the very vocal people who believe that Claudia and Danny were the best were a minority when it came to those who voted.

yeah,
who on earth is going to pay the slightest bit of attention to this ridiculous petition, the basis of which seems to be a sour grapes 'My special favourite went out of the competition, I don't like it and just can't accept it.'

And I assume your favourite is not. Why don't you sign the petition because of this. That seems to be why it was set up and why Claudia and Danny fans are signing it.
