Actual duffers I could see doing Strictly:

Jenny Agutter, Penelope Keith, Patricia Hodge

I've always wanted to see someone like Diana Rigg do it but I can't see it happening.

Maybe Sheila Hancock could do a full series - others have done that in the past after doing specials, haven't they?
Penelope Keith will be 77 by the time the next series starts, and Sheila Hancock will be 84. I don't see it happening, somehow.

Potential Duffers 2017: Barbara Windsor, Danniella Westbrook, Pam St. Clement, Eamonn Holmes, Janet Street Porter, Stephen Fry, Graham Norton, Tony Hadley, Piers Morgan...

Potential Talent 2017: Carol Vorderman, Alexandra Burke, Martin Kemp, Fiona Bruce, Coleen Rooney, Eddie Izzard...

...to name but a few...
Danniella Westbrook was actually very good when she was on Dancing on Ice -- she reached the semi-final -- so she'd probably dance well. (I'm ignoring all the other issues relating to her and looking only at her dance potential.)

Carol Vorderman was in series 2 and was first or second out

Tbf with Kevins partners, did people think Kellie and Susanna would definetly be final potential?

Yes, she went out in Week 2 following this now "legendary" rumba

Penelope Keith would be a mere babe in arms compared to Cloris Leachman who was a contestant on DWTS in 2005 at the grand old age of 82..so let's not totally rule out Penny just yet.

How about Diane Abbott as a follow up to Ed?

Susannah not so much but Kellie absolutely! Having gone to theatre school, she'd had a similar background to your average Strictly "ringer". She was arguably Kevin's best partner on paper at that point, just not as popular as Frankie or Susannah.

In fact haven't his celebs on paper got better every year?

Maybe next year his partner will be Iveta or Aliona. 😂😂

Seriously though, he is due a challenge next year. I'd rather he didn't have a joke contestant, just someone who will need Some work - a MOR contestant who's clearly a way behind the others so it's a challenge for him to be innovative, crowd pleasing whilst still keeping his celeb comfortable. I'm thinking along the lines of Laura W, Greg, Jamelia, Kirsty G etc.

I think he would be totally up to the challenge by the way. His partners all seem to have a great experience. But I don't think the show does him any favours with what honestly does look like favouritism. I think it will actually help him in terms of popularity with the public to have a quiet year.

Susanna won the CIN special a few years before, and Kellie had gone to stage school.

I agree actually - was Laura too tall for him because otherwise I think they'd both have done better paired together or if she'd got Brendan. Actually someone like Lesley might have been a good match for Kevin this year.

Agree, I think Lesley would have done really well with Kevin. She was prepared to put in the effort too.

Also think Louise would have been better with Brendan, as he seems more sympathetic toward those who need to be brought out of their shell.

I think what he needs is a no-nonsense, classy older contestant, who still has potential; most of my problem with Kevin is his tendency to choreograph with the kitchen sink, so I think a completely un-hammy, normally-fit dancer who can grasp basic technique but not intricate lifts or fizzy-sherbert-infused choreography would be best.

A few possibles:

Margaret Anne Lake (Mystic Meg)
Amanda Redman (New Tricks)
Tracey MacLeod (Food Critic)
Claire Skinner (Outnumbered)
Ching-He Huang (TV Chef and Food Writer)
Hope Powell (British Women's Football National Coach)

He doesn't need a duffer, just more of a challenge.

They won't have a sitting MP on Strictly. Maybe after 2020 if she leaves parliament. If they have a politican in 2017, Michael Portillo is probably the most likely option, but he is very unlikely to be partnered with Kev/

Now that would be radical

Would rather see him with someone similar to Naga from this year. All of the above seem like variations on Susanna.

Mystic Meg's pushing 75, I think the chances of her being the new Susanna Reid are pretty slim.

That said, I think Kevin should have an out-and-out obvious duffer next year. Stick him with a Jamelia and a Kirsty Gallacher and you'd just have people saying "Oh but they thought they were going to be good when they cast them it still counts", the same as people say about Rachel for Pasha. (Jamelia I actually think could have been good if she'd had a better teacher and been less cussed so I'm not sure I'd count her anyway). Stick him with an antique diva like Shirley Bassey or Elaine Paige, I'd be into it or even someone with Carol Kirkwood levels of ineptitude.

Ching He Huang is 38, even Louise Rednapp is older than her. I'm not sure that she can count as the ''old'' contestant in the show.

Not as a duffer but they should have Ellie Simmonds on the show.

DWTS had Terra Jole and she was good.

When I posted I wrote the list before the paragraph, sorry, should proofread better.

As a chef though, she'd (probably) be a non-dancer, and so a good challenge without being aggressively awful.

What about Corrie's Mary Taylor (Patti Clare) or Beth Sutherland (Lisa George)?
