The STV player also don't have any HD stuff but the likes of Emmerdale and Corrie look like upscale HD on the STV player but would have liked full HD like the BBCi Player.

Do you want to be depressed further? ITV just announced ITV Hub+ last week for non iOS devices and this will be where ITV will place their premium features.

They'll start off this month with offline downloads for iOS (no idea about Android, maybe later), and commercial free with the Hub+ sub to launch on TV platforms & STBs early next year (just with commercial-free playback).

Yes, you saw that sub, so that means these features will sit behind a pay wall. It will cost just under £4 a month to watch free-to-air television via the ITV Hub+ service.

There is no word if ITV will add HD streams, but if they do, how much do you want to bet they will put it in the Hub+ service to encourage more subscriptions.

Since ITV put their FTA 2, 3 and 4 HD channels behind a pay wall I’ve not really watched anything on ITV at all, just may be an hour or two a week with ITV 1 HD and for what it’s worth they can stick that behind the pay wall too.

With the likes of Netflix and Amazon coming on the scene with HD and no adverts I’ve got no time for ITV, well certainly not ITV SD.

Having given up Sky HD 8 years ago I’ve only just started watching some of their stuff again because NowTV vouchers can be had for a reasonable price but I can’t see me buying into the ITV Hub + with little more than Midsomer Murders to watch over and over.
