I have two words.

GROW.

UP.

Actually another three.

Get some perspective.

I'd advise buying a dictionary and maybe increasing their very limited vocabulary?

Or maybe taking up a hobby?

Yes, and those who are critical to the point of being rude about the celebs and pros on the show should do the same thing.

I'm sick and tired of reading about hating and bashing. It's like children in playgrounds. There is a perceived bias towards the Cliftons but whether it is true or not, I don't know. Each of the Cliftons have irritating parts of their personalities that I am not keen on, but I don't dislike them dancing. I certainly don't hate them.

If individual posters feel that they don't like the Cliftons, any or all of them, they are perfectly entitled to that opinion without being told they are bashers or haters. I didn't like Greg Wallace - did that make me a hater/basher?

I don't like Louise Redknapp. I think she is wishy washy. I'd think that if she was partnered with any guy not just Kevin. I just find her irritating.

Though saying rude things about any of the participants or pros is certainly very mean.

Its not often I agree with you Hulk, but well said. What makes me laugh is that several who say it accuse others of having no sense of humour! Have you actually read the stuff they post about those who dare criticise the family? They can't even praise the Cliftons in an appreciation thread without having a go. Emphasis on some FMs, BTW.

The thing with free speech and forums is that you have the right to say whatever you want.

And people then have the right to respond to you.

I don't remember all those Greg Wallace dislike threads! People have a right to dislike who they want, but all the "I don't like the way that Clifton did that" or "I dislike the Cliftons" type threads appear after every show. Maybe there should be a be a general "Clifton unappreciation" thread to keep those comments in one place!

The irony of this comment, that I don't know if you're speaking directly about me or not, haha.

'Course it's not directed at you. I just wish people would stick to doing what you said in your OP, ie responding directly.

I don't actually look at who posts individual threads so no it is not directly about you.

I wish I had a fiver though for each time I have read the words "Clifton Bashing" or "Clifton Haters". I've seen it so many times, without noticing who has actually posted it.

I was responding to Muggy's post which was quoting mine. So my comment wasn't directed at you in any way.

I don't think that there's any hate on here TBH. True there's sometimes some unsubstantial guff about favoritism because someone is someone else's alleged godfather and some silly alleged stuff about a family being treated like they're Strictly's own Corleone's but really most posters are a reasonable lot and soon shoot down the more ridiculous rants.

I don't hate any of them. I am indifferent to a few (many this year) and like some. They are mere marionettes prancing around on my screens for my pleasure and in a good year I enjoy all of them to varying degrees when they play their parts well. I even developed a bit of a fondness for Mr 'Can I just say' Peter 'hoofer' Andre last year (bless him) and that surprised me.

Well said, everybody on here. This is a messageboard for participants to critique a dance show. How criticising a contestants performance translates into hate or vitriol or any of the other OTT words that are bandied around by posters who seem in dire need of a dictionary, is beyond me.

All viewpoints are valid. Put yours forward for discussion. Debate and use the power of your oratory to make your point of view. DO NOT SPEND YOUR TIME CRITICISING OTHER POSTERS.

Exactly!

If people's posts are within the bounds of decency and reasoned criticism, then they are neither hating nor bashing. If they have no reasoning, are rude, insulting, bitter or just lacking in any kind of justification or factual basis whatsoever, then they are hating and bashing and I don't see why they shouldn't be labelled as such. There's a way of giving criticism and negative opinion that has a place in decent conversation, and that's perfectly find. When it goes beyond that I have no hesitation in calling people out on it, because to my mind that's no better than saying something hurtful and hateful to someone's face, which I hope people would never actually do.

When some posts chose to not adress the contestants with their own name, but use indulting nicknames instead, it's pretty much hating and bashing. Have an opinion of a dancer or pro, fine, but in your post have the decency to use their name.
