I can't say I see a lot of them. If you're sick of seeing them, send them my why and I'll kindly dispose of them for you.

The only time I used to see them regularly was when my Dad used to work in London in the 80's. He used to come back to Cornwall every other weekend, and he would struggle to change them up as so few shops refused to accept them.

>>>

I think its due to my brother - He's been spending quite a few lately.
Nah, it's Mike Ashley. He has a wad in his back pocket thicker than most of us would be paid in a year. One of 2016's comedy gold moments, seeing him empty his pockets on TV.

If you do get a £50 note, check to make sure it has James Watt on the back as this is the only version which is currently legal tender. The ones with a picture of Sir John Houblon were withdrawn from circulation two and a half years ago, although we found one of them a couple of weeks back when cashing up the tills at work, one of the newbies had accepted it.

Not so much these days, you're right, as the police have nicked most of them.

Nowadays, it's mostly what I call 'meat nickers' from places like Iceland or Farm Foods, that come into the pubs trying to sell their dodgy goods, but again the police are catching most of them with the help of CCTV.
Not to be confused with 'meat knickers'.

Why do you suppose this is? Does anybody here understand the logistics of how cash circulates? Like, there used to be a lot more £10 notes in circulation a decade or more ago, in my experience, whereas now there seems to be mostly £20 notes. Am I mistaken?
It's just drug dealers laundering their money through you.
