Thought Danny and Oti were both very gracious with Claudia and AJ at the end there.
As for the OP, I was suprised when Oti said she was shocked but Danny put an end to it quite quickly to say they'd discussed the possibility that the AS may well be their final dance. I don't think it was arrogance on either part but more disappointment. |

i thought it was an interesting moment. even the vainest of contestants usually has a 'could have been anyone' gracious response on standby for the near inevitability of such a moment.
but not danny, oh no. he really had not given it a moments thought. i wondered if he was going to ask for a recount. oti probably had to give him a good talking to to ensure he caught her after the final throw...

Well no, I don't actually. I said "MAYBE" he thinks that. Personally, I don't think he does.
Every single week, the first thing he does when he's got through is thanks everybody who voted for him, and then he does it again in the Clauditorium. He's a humble bloke. he always looks more dazed than humble to me. like he isn't quite sure if he's missed the last bus home. humble is also over rated and usually fake. oh sorry, that's ore's script |

Amazing how you can twist a situation to suit your dislike of Danny, and incidentally, what have you got against CAPITAL letters?

Danny did say he and Oti had discussed the possibility of them going out and he was glad they would be going on a favourite dance. He didn't sound at all confident they would get through.

Yes, I thought he seemed upset about it but wasn't overly surprised to be there. Just think he was disappointed.
( I do like Tess but I never think that part is very well done) (I did like her and Claud's fishing joke though.)

They were shocked, Oti in particular, which they shouldn't be as it smacks of arrogance.

After 12 weeks of getting through each week, you can be forgiven for thinking that you will probably get through again. One thing that was clear was that they had discussed the possibility of leaving the competition.

When Len made the remark "they are the ones to beat" I can understand why they were shocked.

Yes I heard that. Surprised she said it.
Good grief, give them a break, of course they were shocked, anyone would be - it's a sudden realisation that people didn't like their work enough to vote for them, which is obviously going to be shocking and disheartening. But of course people fixate on that one word rather than every other aspect of their reaction, like facial expressions and everything else they said, and their reaction throughout the end where the judges were making their decision and after Claudia was eliminated. It was entirely clear that they had thought about the possibility of leaving, and entirely clear from what we saw on TV and what is in the backstage videos and on both their Twitter feeds that they have nothing but the utmost love and respect for Claudia and AJ and are very grateful to be saved. Clearly they can do no right for some people though... |

Probably because 12 weeks or so of getting through unscathed, even after the rubbish ribbon incident dance- foxtrot was it?, made them feel pretty invincible. I though it a little bit too ' what us ??' The reaction of the studio audience was a bit OMG too!
Make it up while you go along why don't you!! |

Let's put you in the dance-off and then put you on the spot and ask for a comment in a language that isn't your native language and then see what the first word out of your mouth is...

I didn't see arrogance at all, especially from Danny. All I saw was a fear of suddenly going out at the semi-final. Personally, I think they had good reason to be shocked at being in the dance-off after the sublime dances they had delivered, but actually there was far more outrage from everyone in my living room than from Danny and Oti.

I think both couples in dance off were rather shocked because they'd really performed well even if they hadn't completely nailed the routines. They all seemed to have a "just what do we have to do?" sort of feeling.
Let's compare - Danny vs Claudia 2016 - Anita vs Katie 2015 - Mark vs Jake 2014 |

I saw Kevin's face when Danny's & Oti's names were called - he was shocked. I saw Claudia's face when Danny's & Oti's names were called - she was shocked. I saw AJ's face when Danny's & Oti's names were called - he was shocked. I was shocked along with countless others. Anyone who has sailed through the competition has got to be shocked being in the DO at the last hurdle. I kept hoping that Tess would announce all the couples were through as they did in Tom/Camilla's year. |

A very good, fair post
![]() I have the a lot of respect for Oti but this is her second year she should know that there was a possibility to be in the dance off in a four couple semi final. Being surprised is not a negative emotion as I said I don't think it was arrogance, but I really think they were surprised to be there and that was pretty clear on last night's programme. |

Complaints about judges, pro dancers, producers and participants and every single little thing is being ridiculed. Wtf do some folk want?
