Who picked that song as it is awful. I actually prefered Matts song from the John Lewis adverts which was a far better song and it should have been the Winners song instead

Easily. Did they rummage through Sheeran's bin to find that?

Yawn, my mind went elsewhere whilst it was on. One of the most boring songs I have ever heard.

The song was ok actually. They're really gunning for the Christmas number 1.

Louisa's last year, and Sam Bailey's were appalling imo.
I also wasn't very keen on Alexandra's version of Hallelujah, or Steve Brookstein's winners song either. Matt's winners song would've been better sung by Ryan or Emily out of this year's lineup imo. |

Ed Sheeran reject repurposed for this. I'm just not sure the world needs - or can tolerate - another Ed Sheeran. We have enough. We have a surplus, actually.

Winner's Single RATE? Why not.
![]() A Moment Like This Impossible Hallelujah That's My Goal Something I Need When We Collide Cannonball Against All Odds Skyscraper The Climb When You Believe Forever Young I've not been watching X Factor so will wait until it's uploaded to YouTube and give it a listen. Wish me luck!!! I'm already guessing it'll be comfortably inside the top 5 worst X Factor winners singles.

It's bad... very very bad. But I can hardly remember any of the others so they could've been worse.

Yes, so much so I ended up reaching for the mute button as I was finding myself almost slipping into a deep snooze as it was so boring.
Really, although having a fairly good voice, who gave some good performances, Matt is not the most charismatic of singers to ever appear on the X Factor, and to give him that as a winning song did nothing for him, imo. He should have had a song to showcase him a lot more. |

That's the trouble with writing the song before knowing who's going to sing it - it will have to be something anyone can do, so it has to be fairly generic and easy - the musical equivalent of a white wall, not in any way challenging or interesting enough for enyone to really love or hate, just a bit meh.

Giving Matt Terry an Ed Sheeran song is one of the many catalogue of errors the show has made. It would have been even worse if Saara sang it.
They had two square pegs waiting to fill a round hole. Cowell and the producers are meant to be professionals but they don't have a clue what they're doing. |
