The girl vote will be the death of reality tv, if this continues, how many times have we been in this position before?

Okay Louisa last year but seriously, this has to stop, how does any credible decent singer stand a chance, Saara deserved to win and was easily the best,.

However the perception is that if you are male, fit and look alright, you stand a good chance of winning.

I just think the whole concept of these shows is floored, what is the point of voting when usually you are going to get a good looking guy as the winner,

Fortunately Saara will dominate the and overtake Matt in the industry, But Matt seriously, girls please stop voting for these guys (one hit wonders)

They should be banned from voting, they spoil the X Factor every year, even before the free app came about.

If it was up to me Matt would've been incredibly lucky to get to the top six out of this very lineup, bland and screechy doesn't even begin to describe his performances in my eyes.

Utter rubbish the right person won.

And such a simplistic view believing it was girls voting for the fit one wot won it for Matt. He won because he has the most talent, simple as.

Yes let's ban 50% of all people from voting. Sexist much?

It may come as a shock to you but girls and women are entitled to like things.

Nobody is saying they aren't entitled to like things, however on a Music show they should be using their ears to some level, which going by Social Media and the eventual result, alot of them didn't use their ears.

It's always been a problem and always will be.

Just look at the history of the show - it's beyond a joke at how predictably sad it all is.

Not a girl vote at all. It's middle aged frumps, gays and grannies that vote for boys like him.

Except they don't really like them, do they?

They ditch their support for these winners as soon as the show is over. Steve, Matt, Joe, Ben, Leon... where are these people when their singles and albums are out?

No where to be seen because they're too busy drooling over the next good looking guy their eyes have latched onto.

Matt who?

Matt who?”

Firstly, just wow. I'm sure men never do what you're talking about, ever. Men drool over good looking girls, that would never happen.

Secondly, maybe because 48% of the 5 mil. votes viewing a Saturday night ITV TV show isn't enough to make a dent in a music industry where you have to appeal to the whole country?

The last X Factor winner to have any success was Little Mix and they won years ago. The show just isn't a big enough platform any more - not by itself, anyway.

Looking at the voting stats, it seems he only won at the last minute because people wanted to stop the foreigner winning. Doesn't really bode well for him.

It's a recipe for success that many bang average singers have won

You're talking nonsense. James Arthur has had success. Louisa is only just getting started.

The fact you mention Little Mix just proves my point, though. These typical 'pretty boys' do absolutely nothing for the show. The only one who's contributed anything to it is Shayne.

The rest of these bored housewives type winners have never had any sort of success for one single minute, whilst the likes of Leona, James and Little Mix go onto have strong careers.

She didn't lose because she was from a different country, she lost because she was up against the typical pretty boy that always wins regardless of their competition.

Why did G4 lose? (Yes, Steve isn't exactly a pretty boy but he appeals to the same bored housewives type).
Why did Fleur lose?
Why did Eoghan top the votes for the majority of 2008 when we had such great talent such as Alexandra, JLS, Diana, Ruth, Rachel, Laura and Austin?

Didn't Ray even only lose to Leona by 10%?

Saara's loss is nothing to do with 'Brexit' or that we're all a bunch of racists. It's to do with the majority of voters being middle aged women who typically don't vote for other women... and as a result we get the likes of Matt Terry who offer us absolutely nothing once the show ends, but they don't care because by the time Matt's brought out a new single, the next pretty boy is on screen asking for their vote.

Reality TV is just very skewed in favour of men - especially good looking ones. Just the way it is.

Yes I agree it's not so much a girl it's the middle aged and older women vote that skew these things .

The last voice had a bland winner guy that used to be in liberty x, whatever happened him no sucess after and forgotten about.

The voters will move an after matt they don't buy music ,probably to another bland person on the voice

So it's eat sleep rave repeat for the process each time

”

'Bored housewives' buy Adele records, as do upwardly mobile career women it so happens and neither group has the time or inclination to vote on X Factor.

Also, the records that overpopulate the top of the current singles charts are clearly bought by the snowflake generation of youth. And they (records and youth) are hardly cutting edge these days.

Men do drool over good looking girls, and they also deserve to be commented on negatively if that's all they like the female contestant for and they get them to win because of that very reason.

And in the Music Industry nowadays you can sell about 20k copies of your single or album and still get to number one sometimes, so the fact that alot of these male winners off this show can't get that shows that these people are being fickle and are just favouring the next good looking male that comes along, or the overweight lady that sounds like Shirley Bassey.

I think a bigger question should be why young females went for Matt rather than 5 After Bedtime??

Not quite. Ray received 40% of the votes, and Leona received 60%.

BIB, it probably also didn't help with Fleur that Ben was also the better singer, despite how bland he was as a performer (which she also was) Fleur was a dancer like Olly Murs and 5AM.

Ok looking back at my original post, banning the girl vote would be impossible, it would never happen, however if their was a way to make it fairer that would perhaps be the best option.
