It's clear that 5am voters perhaps switched to Matt tonight then but even so it was close

Yep noticed that aswell. She was never actually in the bottom 2!
Unbelievable, i hope they scrap that dreadful lifeline vote next year.

Saara won last night then!”

That would be Disco, which I'm surprised Saara didn't win that.

Very interesting that Matt was 22.5% last week in bottom 2 and Emily 22.1% hence why they didn't take it to deadlock because Simon knew that Matt would have gone through. I think that Matt deserved to win and we definitely got the right top 3 even though I loved Sam Laverin!

So pleased that Honey G never topped the vote!

Or a lot of casual viewers popped back in for the final. I always wonder how much they affect the final tallies.

Ryan and Sam did better than I might have thought

Honey G was never a real contender

Surprised that Matt overtook saara tonight. I thought her version of I didn't know my own strength and the reaction it got would have won it ?

Did Matt have a great social media campaign ? He has many more twitter followers than saara

Mind you, if Syco want to, they can orchestrate this win

I'm sure that the producers, Simon and Syco have some very clever people who have analysed all the past series and finals voting patterns. They will know how to give someone the best chance of winning based on running order, placement of ad breaks, types of song etc. Plus undermining Matt last week to get a bounce back vote, Nicole the assassin very deliberately appealing to nationalism....etc !

Yes I was thinking that. She would have been bottom 3 that week

Wow, interesting results, especially when you compare the lifeline vote with the public vote. Apart from week 1 and 2, the lifeline vote matched the public vote so actually apart from week 2, Ryan was right to get saved.

It's all so predictable. As soon as they axed it, I said that was the reason.

A week later she ends up in the bottom two. It's no coincidence. It's sad.

Definitely Salv and I did say this would happen last night as it wasn't as close as people thought tonight, with Matt at 49 to Saara 40, that's a lot of votes!

Interesting that Ryan always polled lower but then thst lifeline vote saved his ass every single time.

How come Gifty and Saara got the same in week 2 yet Saara was in the sing off/lifine?

Gifty probably beat her by decimals.

Matt had double the likes to Saara on Facebook, roughly 15.000 to 7.500, plus I think that Matt picked up nearly all the extra votes from 5am fans after they went!

Gifty had more votes.

6.49% over 6.45%, for example... bit silly of them not to specify, though.

Gifty was never that popular then ?

I also expeceted her doing better with votes, at least being around the top 5.

So Ryan was never actually bottom of the vote?

And yet people were getting so angry on here about the lifeline vote 'saving' him when they were so sure that he'd be gone if it went to deadlock.

That, right there, is DS all over

I'm a bit saddened that Relley never had any real support. I thought she may have crept into the top 3 in week 1, since 'Shackles' was undoubtedly one of the best performances of the night. I suppose it was to be expected with her lack of pre-lives exposure though.

Saara actually had a lot more support than I anticipated -- not once in the bottom 2! Goes to show what a joke the lifeline vote was. 5 AM's stats shocked me too, I thought for sure that they were pulling through by the skin of their teeth towards the latter stages, but they easily could've won the whole show. God knows why.

This depresses me
So Nicole's plea for "us" to vote for our own, and her duet, didn't work LAST night then ?

Also, well done to 5am, put up a really good fight.

I wonder if this reflects Simons comment tonight "I thought it might be saara and the boys" (in the final)?

Oh I think she would have been; supporters wouldn't have been aware of the danger she was in in week one so I think she would have fallen there in week two (the 'risk' elevated her vote by a degree).

I think Matt's eventual pulling away had more to do with 5AM's female vote going to him, rather than Saara being from abroad. Though that no doubt will have been a factor a few saddos.

What a close series though - super-interesting results. Complete reverse of last year, though it didn't feel like it until towards the end.

You are forgetting that with tonight Matt topped the vote 7 times, even the week that they say Emily was top Matt had the same percentage of 18.7. Just the fact that Emily was alphabetically first. So first 5 weeks Matt was top of the leaderboard so he definitely deserved the win!

Most definitely, judging bu numbers last night and then tonight Matt picked up most of 5am votes it seems, so quite a big gap in Matts favour tonight!
