5AM really do have claims for foul play after being given a very much C-List duet, they may have snuck through to tonight with a bigger name duet.

I'm surprised Honey G didnt do that well in the voting. Even more surprised Syco have signed her, even if it is for a novelty single. It's a slap in the face to the acts that did better than her!

I would says Clean Bandit are a bigger name than Nicole, at least they are still releasing songs.

Matt Cardle was never in the bottom 2 and not one terrible duet from 3rd place

The vote's were SO close especially tonight and yesterday.

I guess if you average out the votes for across the series, Matt would have the most which is fair enough that he won it. Lets remember so many acts have been top for weeks on end (Janet Devlin, Chris M, Eoughann) and lost momentum in the end and only a few (Matt 1 & 2) carry it on.

Interesting

Judges' Predictions
"At the start of the series" (based on the answers, probably after JH), the judges guessed who will win

Simon: Sam, Matt
Louis: 5AM, Matt
Sharon: 5AM, Relley
Nicole: Matt [but she also put Emily, 5AM, Relley]

So it's. Not totally clear cut. But the chosen ones - one per each category - may have been

Matt
5AM
Relly
Sam

...?

Imo Matt had a good weekend so the fact that Saara beat him last night doesn't mean the UK wanted to vote a person from here but more because Matt inherited 5am votes. Had the whole 'we are not voting Saara because it's a British show' was true then there's no way she would have topped the vote last night.

IMO it was mostly 5am voters that switched to Matt which won it for him.

HOWEVER I do feel perhaps even with that 5am switch, Saara may have pipped Matt at the end had she sung The Winner Takes it All.

One person I am surprised at is Gifty!

I was one of those shocked when the judges voted her off, I still don't think it was the right decision but she narrowly avoids the bottom three almost every week!

I don't agree with this way of thinking. The X Factor is a marathon and it is all about who gathers the crucial momentum in the final weeks. Saara was this person with topping the vote the past three Saturdays in a row, only to be horrendously deramped tonight with two horrendous song choices.
Eoghan Quigg topped the vote most weeks in his series but Alex gathered the crucial momentum towards the end and rode it out to victory. Can you imagine if Eoghan won?!

A lot of us correctly predicted that once Gifty's wig appeared in Week 3, that she was most likely struggling for votes and it turned out to be exactly the case.
Drastic image makeovers mid-series is never a good sign for an act.

So annoyed that there was 1.9% between Relley and Ryan on the lifeline vote week 3.

Relley and Sam weren't chosen ones, if anything they was constantly derailed.

5AM came second in Week 1 even with the death slot! Not bad considering Honey G got the pimp spot and other acts got way more exposure than them.

It's weird that 5am or Saraa could have won the show and yet the show still seemed to push for a Matt win. It's not like they never stood a chance, it was basically a three horse race. Fine, they might not have wanted Saraa to win for all the wrong reasons (not from the UK, lesbian etc) but 5am? I wonder why they didn't just push for them to win seeing as a group has only won the show once and someone from the Boys category has won about 6 or 7 times now?

Well the plan was 5am and spice girls. So I think that'd won it, but it all went wrong

Just goes to show what a piss poor judge Sharon is, doesn't it? But when you think of her old man, she wouldn't know talent if it jumped up and slapped her in the face.

Are you sure they did? Giving her the time on the show to promote her whatever song is different from actually signing her.

Why would they waste air time on promoting someone who isn't on Simon's label, especially with a single coming up?

Looking at the stats, it seems that not many people actually vote on performance itself. The rankings for the first 2 weeks were basically the same, Emily's terrible rendition of Wishing on a Star barely made a dent in her vote etc

There's a story on here saying she has been signed by Syco. There's a video of her confirming it, I'm not watching it as she really gets on my nerves.

Why bother voting for a winner at all if a talentless contestant gets a record deal?

It used to be if the runner up or third place act got a record deal they wouldn't be allowed to de rail attention from the winner i.e release material before or the same time as them.

I really hope her song flops.

I'm confused as to the reasons for a bottom three rather than two. Is it so that there is more chance of getting rid of someone the judges/producers dislike who may just miss the bottom two? Or is it to get the viewers to think their favourite is in danger and vote more?

From what I remember, Ben Haenow was actually top every week, from about the second or third live show the year he won it.

That year was rather odd, in that everyone seemed to think it was a very close final which Fleur would win by a small margin, but in the end Ben won by a landslide and had been winning by a landslide the whole way through...
