More likely than most of the others, I'd say. She is experienced and very probably already has a lot of material ready to go, or at least ready to be devloped further.

I'm not sure if Syco is the best label for her, so hope they don't shackle her in - although I've heard they retain exclusive rights to sign all finalists if they wish. She's so ready that it would be better for her to have control of her career and choose the best representation for her instead of being slapped with a contract that may or may not be suitable for her.

I don't think she'll be going down the music theatre route, she's said in interviews that she doesn't want to do that, she'd rather have one more go of making her own music and making a career as a solo artist. And whilst she's done some musical productions back in Finland, there's no guarantee she would make it in the West End, which is the world's (I'm guessing here) second most demanding musical theatre scene. It's actually REALLY hard to be a successful musical theatre performer - the sheer volume of performances and the physical demands it places on the stars is insane, and it's very challenging vocally to sing in that style.

Nope, to be successful in Finland you have to sing in Finnish. She's said repeatedly that her preferred language for songwriting is English. And it's a tiny, tiny place, with tiny tiny circles. I don't see her having much more success there than she already has. The whole reason for her auditioning was to get her foot in the door somewhere where there are more opportunities. And those there are in the UK, so many more opportunities, plenty of which will suit Saara very well.

That's a really good point re her voice.
I also feel in a way her voice falls between two stools - it's not a strong theatre voice but neither is it a soulful voice. It's quite ethereal and a bit "thin" - beautiful but thin (!) it's rare that this sort of voice translates to a recording career. Sara brightman? But she sells records mainly outside the U.K. Kylie? But is this sort on of poppy pure pop star just so old fashioned now?
On another note,
Between weeks 7 and 9, Matt lost a lot of momentum and at the same time support was really growing for saara. I also am convinced Simon and Louis wanted " the Finn to win"!

So for her to lose it right at the end is a real shame...

Am I just seeing something I want to see, or ..is there a genuine lot of love for saara out there that will translate into real success for her ? I mean, more than most recent runners up, e.g. Nicholas , Marcus Collins or reggie and bollie ?

Sorry my recent posts are all mangled and duplicated !

Saara has already done 4 albums or 5 if you count the one where sings in Chinese. There is 2 pop albums released 2011 and 2013, one Christmas album, which contains song both in English and Finnish, fourth album is with her ex-boyfriend (who has won a tango singing contest here in Finland.) All albums are released by Saara's and her ex's owned record company. About success songs in her 2013 released album has gathered around 10000 streams/song totally in Spotify, to get to daily top 200 you need 5000 streams, so that tells why she try to find success elsewhere. That 2013 released album gathered one week on official chart, if I remember correctly it was position 34 and that was after she came 2nd on the Voice of Finland.

I think there are few really good songs on her albums, but don't really know why she hasn't got any songs to the radio play even now.

She has toured with people like Jose Carreras and Andrea bocelli who are huge stars in the opera and opera crossover world. So she must be counted as a very successful performer already ?, albeit not with album sales.

So maybe in the uk she can carve out a career in a Michael ball or Russell Watson kind of way? ( tho that does seem a bit dull )!

Ultimately her role model should be Adam lambert ?!

I think deep down Simon was gutted she didn't win last night. He seemed very off with congratulating Matt and then totally no showed Xtra. I reckon he will sign her. He did sing her praises an awful lot.

I read a number of music forums and what I have observed is very heavy support for her with gay males, who tend to be heavy music consumers. They also tend to like Divas who can put on a show. They voted heavily for LM in 2011 (they thought Marcus was dull) and still support them. If Saara can get a decent song and be allowed to do live shows I think she has a good career ahead of her.

I think its a mistake to think of her as Sam Bailey 2.0 and I respect Sam's voice. Saara is to me youthful looking, energetic onstage and seems to know her way around an arrangement. She has a good sense of show.

I don't think Simon will offer Saara a record deal as despite how much he grew to like her, I think he would view her as too high risk and just wouldn't have a clue what route to take with her.
I see an independent label taking her on where she'll have a lot of creative control, but not the budget to get real commercial success.

Agreed. I remember people here saying that she's going to end up as another Sam Bailey. Sam had an incredible voice, you can arguably say even better than saaras. However there was never any real markeabilty with Sam. Let's face it she was never going to set the charts alight. She was a ballad belter. Saara on the other hand can not only belt those big notes but she's a performer, has such a young spirit about her and does not appeal to a 40 plus bracket. She's quirky, fun and different which works for gags and sia in today's charts. Her scope is wider than your average overs winner. I do think you are right in the LGBT support. It's out there. This is why she needs a label to sign her up and give her a real shot. Regardless of having previous albums, the X factor have given her a platform and it wasn't until this show the British public got to know her and really get behind her. She just needs the right management team to take her in the right direction.

In Finland there are basically two markets, songs sung in Finnish and songs in English.
And since big global record labels push songs that are sung in english, radio stations play them. And then they play finnish songs pushed by local record labels. Songs that are local, but sung in english get caught between. And Finnish record labels are wary to sign them.

Actually, she does. I'm Mid Century Modern myself, and I read some anecdotal "my grandma is stanning for Saara!" posts. And thats a good thing because one thing I've learned from following LM so closely is the most successful entertainers have cross generational appeal. It irks me when people insist that only teen girls like LM because there are adults taking their mothers to see them. Apparently it didnt bother the grannies' eardrums in the anecdotes that she was a bisexual from Finland either. This is another reason why I think she may have a more successful future than people think. I think she sparkles.

Not true in my case. I'm over 40 and I think she has a great voice. Sam had a more 'butcher' voice than Saara's. Saara has a more 'cleaner/purer' voice when singing. Sam has a lot of power but her pitch isn't quite as good as Saara's though.
