Well at least we dont have to hear about Black celebrities being voted out early

I remember at the start of the series when people were complaining about a Black celebrities being voted out every week with Melvin, Tameka and Naga being the first three to leave. Well now Ore is through to the final. So i wonder what these people are going to say about it now

. . . and people wonder why the producers would want to fix it for Ore to be in the final . . .

Given Colin Jackson was a finalist and Alesha Dickson was winner years ago, this was always a non-issue.

So you would agree with that happening?

Also Denise Lewis, Ricky Whittle, Louis Smith & Natalie Gumede were either runners up or winners as well

The usual (garbage) counter argument that we always get to that though is that only Denise Lewis is black enough as the others are all mixed race which apparently doesn't count.

I don't want any fixing. I also don't want people to be able to denigrate this show for something I believe to be untrue. However, it is criticised either way, so I guess the fixing allegations are less damaging.

This is the worst, most offensive conspiracy theory I have heard on this forum, and there have been some corkers over the years. The idea that the only reason that Ore would get to the final because of his skin colour is ridiculous, offensive and so completely stupid that I actually can't believe that so many are trying to push it. It says a lot.

Oti is black - I suppose she and Danny only got through because of the same reasoning?

Possibly, probably, but be honest Melvin would not have lasted much longer.

Barack Obama was elected President of the USA.

Does this mean there are no racists in the american police forces, or american society in general?

A good dancer like Ore will go as far as his talent takes him, because there aren't enough racists (people who would never vote for a black contestant) to stop him.

But in the EARLY stages it could happen, because votes are spread out among 12 or more contestants- meaning the number of votes separating the bottom few contestants could be very small. So- if you factor in those that would NEVER vote for a black person it COULD, potentially, in marginal situations be the difference.

I realise some people don't like to even contemplate such unpleasant possibilities, and end up questioning the motives of anyone who dares to even suggest it might be a possibility. AS in- I don't want it to be true, therefore I don't wish to discuss it, and anyone who does mention it must be out to make trouble.

Not true- but is such a touchy subject some people just panic and don't even want such a subject discussed.

What is this thread even? Is Ore being black and being in the finale an issue for some people?

The over praising of Ore after the race rumpus has been cringe. I don't know what he's still doing there

He deserves to be in the final. Unfortunately as much as I like Louise she was by far the worse dancer on Saturday and it should have been her in the dance off.

Claudia shouldn't even been in the Semi Final, she should have been out week 9 (blackpool)... but the judges saved her over Greg who out danced Claudia
