I hardly think Tom Chambers was at an advantage over Rachel Stevens, when he was critiqued way more harshly than Rachel or especially Lisa Snowdon (who was routinely overmarked for her latin).

Did dance feature in Tom's training? Sure. Same for any other actor who has ever done Strictly (and other contestants, too). That's hardly earth-shattering news, and it's a far cry from Natalie or Jay, who specifically trained as dancers.

Ali didn't make the final because, again, she didn't have the public support (that semi-final was public vote only). And I don't think you can class Chris Hollins as a comedy act - he certainly learned to dance, but he just didn't have the technical whizz Ricky Whittle clearly did (probably because of his 'dance training' ).

The problem it would seem that many of Claudia's fans seem to be struggling to accept is that Strictly isn't, and never has been, purely a dance competition. If it was, there'd be no ITT, and we wouldn't have behind the scenes in training. We are encouraged to invest in the celebrities - just like any other reality show - and so, inevitably, the public vote is a barometer of what they see on and off the dance floor. So the celebs have to click on both fronts (and the really smart ones combine the two).
You're right and if it was purely a dance competition Claudia would have been saved over Danny Mac.

So if it's a conspiracy or "rigged" as some people are claiming, what was the judges aim and how did they achieve this? Because I cannot see how giving two contestants exactly the same marks (resulting in both of them being at the bottom of the leaderboard) can be seen as trying to do one of them down while conspiring to help the other.
I'd add that if, as some people claim, one of the contestants was obviously undermarked and the other was obviously overmarked, I would expect the public's sense of that injustice to favour the undermarked dancer.
From the same leaderboard position, Louise escaped the dance off and Claudia was in it. Clearly the majority of the public did not agree that Claudia deserved to be saved - or at least not as much as Louise did. This is not something the judges could have known would happen. From that position, Claudia would have been equally as likely to have been saved (more so, if she was genuinely perceived as badly treated you'd think), and Louise as likely to have been in the dance off.
I agree entirely. But you're wasting your time, common sense is pointless in this type of thread. I've noticed in all these threads that nobody ever gives a reason why the judges or the BBC should want to fix the result. Surely Claudia was one of their biggest names, a popular Olympic gymnast, young and cute with a kind of "boy band lookalike" as a partner. You would have thought the partnership ticked at least one of their demographic boxes, why get rid of them ?

I'll still be watching the final.

But I hope dull Louise does not win.

There's every chance that 'dull' Louise topped the public vote last weekend, given that she survived. Plus she's the only one who has never been in the dance-off.

But who knows what Saturday will bring?

BTW LOVING your forum name!

Annoyed that smug Ore is in the final... wanted & thought Claudia & AJ deserved to be there! Definate bias

Rooting for Louise or even Danny!

Judges days are numbered, the amount of complaints on the BBC website hopefully means that Bruno & Darcy will follow Len and get the boot! The whole panel needs an update and pretty much everyone is over Bruno's antics... Darcy has proven to be a real bitch to the female celebs this series.

But to be really honest I was more sickened watching Len on ITT last night! Pretending it's "the right time to move on" - come off it you old geezer! We know DWTS pays ££££ more! That's the reason he wants to leave... money.

I never did buy his 'cheeky, chappy' act...

I have joined your protest and will NOT be watching the final.
Unless you're a BARB monitor which I very much doubt the only person you'll be hurting is yourself. Ee, you do make me laugh!

No because I love the show regardless of anyone's opinions. I also have an issue with judges 'influencing' the voting' this imp!ies that voters are dumb and can't make their own minds up.

Oh ffs!!!! Once again for the hard of understanding. He was already doing DWTS, both seasons, and Strictly! So by leaving Strictly he is taking a reduction in income, ok? See. He had 3 apples. He drops one apple. Now he's got two. Two is less than three, yes?

So NOT money.

And he's only doing DWTS at all because he's under a contract to which he added his signature in 2015. So he'll not be getting any more money from DWTS than he was before. Still two apples, see? Not three, two. Less than three. When that contract is finished he'll undoubtedly retire altogether. At which point, no apples.

Well said and in addition many older people like to spend more time in warmer climates, he has every right to semi retire. Also Mrs Len may prefer to spend more time with him. Who knows? But whatever, the reason, his choice.

All the claims of 'bias' and 'fix' are becoming increasingly hollow as there isn't a shred of evidence to back up these wafer-thin theories from some very bitter-sounding posters.

You may have wanted Claudia and AJ to be in the final. You may have voted for them. But apparently the majority of the voting public didn't feel the same way. And that is the bottom line.

And it's the public who could have saved them. All they needed to do was top the public vote and they would have easily made the final. Yet they can't have.

You can launch as many personal attacks on the judges as you like. But it won't change anything.
