The free app vote was fine but an extra five votes during the final was unnecessary.

AND PLEASE STOP MAKING DERMOT DANCE AND GIVING HIM STUPID INTRODUCTIONS! It's so cringeworthy. He's just the presenter, it's bad enough that it takes about 10 minutes for the Judges to walk to their seats never mind giving Dermot his own performance as well.”

I heard somewhere that the judges walk on is prerecorded and that when the live show starts they're already in their seats.

Anyway, my choices would be
Axe 6 chair challenge (Everybody hates it)
Judges should be more honest and stop saving their own act (fed up of judges competition and tactical saving)
No stupid dramatics (Hate the fake crying, and the classic "this means everything to me")
No padding (2 hour final result with about 8 performances is ridiculous)
Axe the jukebox (It's not fooling anybody)
Axe Simon and Nicole (Simon was awful and Nicole needs to go marry a mirror)
Better guests (Not just Simons acts, little mix, little mix and little mix)
Better songs (Not the same songs every series)
Stop giving Simon the best category and Louis the worst (I know he owns the show but it needs to be more fair although Simon really messed up this year)
Everybody needs to stop sucking up to Simon (Nicole did it at the final, and i'm fed up of people calling him the greatest thing since toasted bagels)
Simon needs to be more fun as he won't do anything that would embarrass him such as singing, dancing, dressing up in a costume etc
Get rid of screaming girls in the audience and the chanting (it's not a football pitch)

That's American Idol. Copying even that one aspect would see Cowell in court.

To replace the theme jukebox, have the remaining contestants draw numbers to determine the next weeks running order (gets rid of the "producers want him out because they put him on first" nonsense)

Either cut the final Sunday to one hour or have three on the final day. A two hour show for just four songs is ridiculous and results in far too much filler.”

Its one of the most popular parts of the show, and has given us some stellar performances.

So if someone picks 8 poor acts out of the hat, a quarter of the acts on the live shows will be useless fodder from the outset.

Even if we ignore the fact that that's not a like-for-like 'improvement', what happens if the public's favourite keeps drawing the opener and the least popular act keeps getting the pimp slot?

Sunday's show was far better than Saturday's.

Why? All of the voting should be free. Anyone who opens their purse to vote for contestants on a TV show needs their head testing.

They're exactly the sort of people that should be voting. But it's their mothers who are picking up their phones instead.

That would see the ratings plummet overnight.

The ads fund the show.

Threads like this only serve to illustrate how difficult it must be to get things right. The majority of the suggestions would make the show worse rather than better, and much of the rest would kill it stone dead.

Once they get down to the last 32, there should be no poor acts there.

If someone draws the same number every week, so be it. That's how random draws work. I don't believe that people will refuse to vote for their favourite because they were first on.

Sunday's show lasted 120 minutes and had only 12 minutes of actual competitive singing! They either need to have three in the final, shorten the show or let them sing three songs each.

Read this elsewhere on here but I like it!

Separate the judges and mentors. Lets have 3/4 independent judges (current line up maybe) with other mentors for the acts (they don't need to be too famous and might feasibly spend more time with their acts)

1. Ban boring bland wannabe celebrity lookalike singers from auditioning
2. Ban boring bland good looking male wannabe singers from auditioning
3. Ban teenage girls from voting
4. Ban desperate housewives from voting
5. Choose the actual singers who can hold a tune to go through the stages

There's simply no way they're ever going to have 32 acts worthy of the live shows in the same year. Your idea pretty much guarantees a weakened 'final 16'.

Indeed. But it wouldn't stop people claiming their favourite was being disadvantaged, as you previously suggested. And if the 'best' act/s weren't being seen by all due to to the Strictly crossover, or the worst act was becoming unduly popular due to repeatedly drawing the pimp slot, then we'd be back to square one. Changes that only offer further anomalies are hardly a better option than what we have at present.

Yet it was still a far more entertaining night than Saturday's show.

i would switch up the sing off / liveline vote part
bottom 3 all do the sing off...
judges save 1 act
lowest vote between the other 2 leave...

I like the sound of this and it would work.
