The following were all bad winners in my opinion:
Leon Jackson
Louisa Johnson
Sam Bailey
Ben Haenow

Not including Steve Brookstein because that was the first series...

I think Matt Terry could pull a Joe McElderry and do well in musical theatre.

Not including Matt Cardle because although he hasn't really done much, I was a huge fan of him during his series.

If I had to rank them at the time of their respective wins (not how well they've done in the industry after that):

1) Louisa Johnson
2) Leona Lewis
3) Alexandra Burke
4) Little Mix
5) Sam Bailey
6) Joe McElderry
7) Matt Cardle
8) Shayne Ward
9) Ben Haenow
10) James Arthur
11) Leon Jackson
12) Steve Brookstein

Steve had the worst attitude but Leon was a worse singer. Leon is less bitter but at least Steve only beat G4 in the final who I wasn't keen on either. I was horrified when Leon won over Rhydian.

Joe is my favourite winner, really hoped would be able to add Saara but at least she wasn't beaten by someone as dreadful as Leon. It was more like series 5 where I wanted JLS to win but liked both,

Sam Bailey was another of my favourite winners, shame she hasn't taken off really, she would never have been another Rihanna but she could have done a SuBo.

I was also glad Matt Cardle won even though my fave that year was Hollis from Boot Camp.I really didn't like Rebecca's voice.

I also backed Little Mix in the other finals, I didn't feel so strongly as my favourites had gone but no one I especially disliked was competing.

Leon Jackson.

It would take someone really crap to win X Factor to become the new title holder imo. Even I think Matt Terry is a better singer than Leon Jackson.

Even Steve was a better singer than Leon, just more of a duck with it!

From an ardent Saara fan, Matt'ss miles better than Leon. I think Sam Lavery would be comparable. Not including Honey G as everyone apart from her got that she was there for a laugh!

Steve had the worst attitude
That didn't appear until after the show. He came across as a lovely guy during the show, and I think was the main reason he won it. People seem to forget that or didn't watch it back then.

For me, the worst by far is Louisa Johnson because she was instantly forgettable.

I'm sorry his attitude problem was clear on the show. He even got turned away at first audition because of it. Simon decided to get him back because of his voice. Louis said he didn't want to mentor him with his attitude. He fell out with Rowetta during the show which was well known. Simon / Production tried to overcome the stories by having the biggest con job of a VT about how humble he was. It was seeing that VT after what had happened earlier that set Sharon off. G4 said that what blew up wasn't just a final issue it had been building up.

I haven't watched every series but Leon Jackson was the worst winner out of the ones I've seen. Rhydian had more talent in his little finger.

Leon or Steve - hard to chose between them. Steve seemed unlikable and arrogant, and whilst it was out of the order the way Sharon called him out on live TV, I felt her description of him was, whilst damning, pretty accurate. And Leon was just incredibly, depressingly dull.

Leon Jackson, with Steve Brookstein in second place. btw Sam Bailey i thought was a good winner, however Cowell wouldn't stick behind her when in truth he should have given her more of a chance.

Steve Brookstein for me. Apart from his, IMO, intense bitterness, watching back his winners single performance in the final, not only did he mess up the words, but his vocal was hardly great either.

I depends on your definition of worst. All things considered, probably Leon.

Louisa is actually a bit like Nicole-a good singer, very pretty, but too focused on being those things to really connect with a song or audience. This held Nicole, who I respect for her vocal ability and knowledge, back from being successful as a solo artist while others less gifted succeeded in spite of hard work and aggressive self promotion. Hopefully, Louisa ,who is still so young that it is somewhat understandable for her to not be a developed artist yet, ,will not share that fate.

Leon at least has a Music genre, Matt's directionless.

Nicole was hugely successful when she fronted the Pussycat Dolls. Ben Haenow was probably the least successful in recent times. Little Mix for me were far and away the best winners.

In terms of singing ability, I'd have to say Leon Jackson. They've all been alright. I don't know about Steve because I didn't watch that series. I think quite a few have failed to light up the charts but none of them have been awful.

Leon was the only one whose win I just don't get. Regardless of whether the other winners were my taste or not (invariably not tbh) they all had something that made them popular. With Leon though, he had the charisma of a wet lettuce and the star quality of a paper bag and his win seems to be based on his duet with Kylie

Yes,which would work for Louisa at this stage with those same limitations, but not solo whicch is why I was discussing only her SOLO career

Although he seems a really nice guy, I'd have to say Ben.
I think he is the kind of pub singer who has a few songs that really suit his voice which he probably used up in his auditions where he was pretty good.
But he is a limited vocalist with a very old fashioned persona. In the finals I felt he was really shown up by Andrea vocally and fleur performance wise.
