TV NEWSIE BITS

1. . 21st Centtury Fox has made another bid to take over Sky. The news was announced on Friday afternoon. 21st Century Fox already has a 40% stake in Sky.

2. . Made In Birmingham and Made In Liverpool are now available on satellite as formal tests have begun ahead of their EPG launch in January. The tuning details are shown in the “LOCAL CHANNELS” list

3. The BBC has noe returned its configuration to normal following the Olympics. BBC4 was temporarily on the main PSB1 mux on Freeview, and on satellite, CBeebies moved to a temporary frequency, which was switched off last week. Channel 4 will start its Paralympic coverage from 1300-0100 (not 1800-1900 which is on More 4). All additional “red Button” coverage of the Paralympics will be online this time. .

RADIO NEWS

1. Details about Phase 4 of BBC National DAB network – to be completed in 2016

2. . Nation Broadcasting have now launched Dragon Radio across all Wales local multiplexes and online. The service can be found in place of Nation Gold. There will be local breakfast and drive shows on weekdays, but initial monitoring of the station seem to indicate that the music playlist log is identical to that of the recently launched Thames Radio in London, also operated by Nation Broadcasting.

3. .DAB reception in Humberside has been increased with the addition of new transmitters, adding 220000 people to the official coverage area. In addition to that, North West Wales mux has also increased its coverage.

4. RTE Extends Longwve 252 Service but German broadcasters are closing medium wave transmitters . There will also be NO stations from Germany on Longwave or mediumwave after 31 December 2015.

According to Broadcast Now the full take over of Sky by 21st Century Fox for £11billion is unlikely to be blocked by the regulator even though some Sky share holders are against the take over. This is according to some analysts the headline states. I haven't read the full article as it's subscription.

You can probably prune some of the TV News stuff as well. No 3 about the BBC has been completed and the Paralympics are over so it can all be removed. Same with the link to the BBC 3 consultation, that was a long time ago! Under the General part, there is a link for a railway line re-opening in summer 2015. That has long passed too.

11.428 H is not part of the Sky network - it is a standalone associated with Freesat

Sorry, wasn't blaming Sky.

Whoever is responsible needs to remove it, it's been on there for ages.

What is perhaps more likely to happen is that the shareholders of the 61% of non-Murdoch Sky shares will sit back and demand a better offer than the current £10.75 of cash per share that's on the table.

Sky's independent directors are under mounting pressure to secure a higher bid from Rupert Murdoch for the 61% stake in the satellite broadcaster it does not own. On Friday, 21st Century Fox announced a possible bid for Sky priced at £10.75 a share, valuing the company at £18.5bn.
