I wonder why Simon didn't appear on the Xtra factor with the other judges after the final, as usual.

I thought it was slightly rude to Matt and Saara and the viewers etc.

Was he dealing with contract signings, or was he just not happy about the result??

Probabaly for a smoke and then discuss Matt's signing with the Syco team. Then off on holiday Monday - his yacht awaits.......

This thread is the only one that I can find with 'final' in the name so I'll put it here. Didn't Cowell say at The Pride of Britain Awards that the very young lass he met on the stage would perform with her friends on The X Factor? Or was this a joke? I've been waiting ever since that night to see them but they never made an appearance. Unless he was just joking maybe.

It was reported on GMTV on Friday that he has come down with man-flu, and said he will still turn up for the final. He must have rushed back home to bed straight afterwards I presume.

I thought he had been battling the flu and almost didn't appear at all on Saturday?
So I imagine he went off for a good rest!

Or to bollock the producers for letting his third choice win ?

ITV AGREED to 3 more years. But your hatred of X Factor is so deep-rooted that you'll take any chance to have a pop at it. And besides, why drop something which still:
1) tops ITV's night (aside for the 3 IAC weeks)
2) tops ITV's week during the early rounds
3) brings in massive young demos which advertisers love

Back on topic, he probably went to, y'know, attend to other parts of his self-built empire. Simon is actually quite busy, unlike most of the ardent X Factor critics who devote their entire time on this forum to taking jabs at the show.

Very well said. I don't know why people have to keep having a go at both Simon Cowell and the programme. It is still very popular and Simon does a lot of work for children's charites. This is supposed to be the season of goodwill.

He went home to study what went wrong with the series and the choice of winner, who will predictably flop.

Ignore him. Anytime somebody makes a negative comment about Cowell or Syco it sets him off. I assume the other posters were joking. Everybody knows the show is on air until 2019.
