If it's on a credit/debit card, your card company can help reject the second payment.

Or maybe in a few days it will correct itself and I should just leave it? or should I ring my bank up now to cancel the first payment of £101? as it's same order number so I think the item for £20 is not in stock.. |

It's on my internet banking, you know on the transactions page where you can see money requested from your bank that isn't showing on the statement but the money gets taken out? so it hasn't gone through yet but the money has been taken twice as I see two payments.. one for £81 and one for £101. I think what has happened is the £101 they took on the weekend when I placed the order (Saturday) but one of the items which costs £20 is not in stock so they requested the £81 today, but have already requested the £101 the other day from my bank..

Don't panic unless/until both of them migrate from the "pending transactions" to your "actual statement" page. I think though that only one of them will do that and the other will go away. Leave it a day or two and see if the first one has been cancelled and the second one is paid. It sounds like you put your debit card number into CEX website? It could be that the first one was reserving the transaction on your debit card, but because the final order was different value they could not use that one and so had to make another. |

And I paid through Paypal off their website yes. cheers |

Why did they take the money twice though? or perhaps it's something else I've not counted for who knows..
And I paid through Paypal off their website yes. cheers What they have done is placed a reserve on your debit card when you placed the order, that is to check (a) it's a valid card and (b) it has enough funds. As it passed these checks they accepted the order. Then they have placed a different transaction on your card for the payment upon packing/dispatch. It's odd that they did this, maybe because the final is a different value they had to, or maybe it's just the way they do things. |
