When both finalists sing the same winner's single it'll get sung three times in the same show which is too much. The winner always sings it again after being announced as the winner. I think the new format is better as there is still some intrigue leading up to the last performance of the series.

Not for me.

I buy songs on iTunes because I like the "song", not the singer.

The public vote for Matt, all Matt fans are ecstatic, then he sings the winner's single for the time, the song is boring and all Matt fall to sleep.

Did Saara even record her own version of the song? Or was this even more Simon Cowell manipulation. The fact we don't even know what Saara's winner's single sounded like is very suspicious. <-_<

Also repetition is key. If the public hear a song once, they might like it but forget about it after 10 minutes. If they hear two versions of the same song they can compare the two and decide which version they prefer. Then the winner performs the song again so the public hear the song three times. This is the best way of getting a song stuck in someone's head and is more likely to make people buy the single.

I quite liked that the winners song was only sang once, when you hear the same song three times, normally within quite a short space of time because they always sing it last it gets a bit boring. Matt won fairly so it's his song, not Saara's so we didn't need to hear her version. (I say this as a Saara fan).

I think the same. It's the winner's song. I like that it's only sung once. I also like that it's an original track this year. I do wish their final two songs before were more interesting though.

I don't think the song really suits her. Would be like giving Matt that Bjork number to perform.

The song suited neither of them tbh.

Imo if the production was gonna have that song be the winners single then the show should've been pushing Ryan or Emily to win as it suited them way more than the other 10 acts.

The song would have suited Ryan better, he has more of an Ed Sheeran type voice and presence.

One year later, when Saara comes up with album for Xmas, it would make sense they include that song in that, it is recorded already after all and year later few will really care if Matt already performed that song.

Yes usually, but not this time. Matt sang it after winner was announced.
