Are You Fooled By A Smart Suit?

And by fooled I mean automatically treat someone better or think better of them because they wear a shirt and tie?

I see it all the time at work; a man wearing an expensive suit walks by and the ladies (mostly the older ones) all sit up and parade around like peacocks in response. He's automatically deemed to be nice because he's in a suit. He's smiled at, greeted and shown extra manners because he's in a suit. Quick get him coffee, offer him a seat and make sure you look smart because he's in a suit damn it.

Of course when it turns out to be the IT guy or some other visitor no body cares. No manners, no smiles and certainly no peacock parades. If you are going to be nice to someone, do they really need to be wearing a suit first?

O yes, they do. And you should follow that example...
