Just seen the clip from last weekends semi-final of Saara saying that if she reaches the final she wants to perform Chandelier again and make it the biggest performance of her life. She said it will always be her X Factor song.

I was shocked when I seen it had suddenly been changed to Oh So Quiet, whilst I think Saara nailed it - this was a song from the time when Saara was constantly in the bottom 3 so thought the choice was odd. Why not pick a song from when the momentum started getting passive around Saara I.e The winner takes it all/Chandelier. Just seen the voting stats though and it appears she was on course to win bar from last nights result so suppose it makes sense, especially with the stories of the producers wanting Matt to win.

We shouldn't be surprised. Nicholas McDonald wasn't allowed to sing 'Someone Like You' in the final and had to sing Arms of an Angel instead.

Personally I thought 'Winner takes it all' was Saara's best performance of the series but that's just my opinion.

It's deffo sabotage! She had the win in the bag from Saturday night so they gave her to boring bland songs to sing and gave matt two songs that have been popular over the last year and that 99.9% of the population have heard!

I'm not shocked at the result I'm shocked that the programme doesn't even try to hide the fact they manipulate the results EVERY WEEK!!!!

It doesn't surprise me they wouldn't let Saara sing Chandelier, as they had been so desperate for a Matt win.

Was definitely not the song that would pick up floating voters.

Although I actually think they assumed Matt would finish 3rd and it would propel 5am to the win. By the time 5am went home, it was too late to change anything and Simon got his least favourite act from the final 5 as his winner.

It wouldn't surprise me at all. They had obviously tried everything they could to try and stop people voting for her. It looked so obviously in Matt's favour in the final. I'm sure that Saara will know that they tried to get rid of her but kept quiet in order to try and stay in the competition. I mean, come on, having her wear that bloody wig thing in one live show. I knew they wanted rid of her when seeing some of what she had to do. They made it so obvious. Acts of desperation.

5am were so close to the final two as well. Their duet could have swung it either way. With all three being close in voting in the last few weeks... shows song choice in the final could have won or lost it for them

It wasn't the best song choice for her, compared with some of her other options, was surprised she had chosen it so maybe it was the producers.

Remember when Marcus Collins did Higher & Higher? Another one where it clearly wasn't his "song of the series"

Have to agree with the above comments, it doesn't surprise me.

I think Simon Cowell realises that he can't fool (most of) the public, so doesn't even bother to do things subtly anymore. Only the dumb generation still think X Factor is genuine and not a fix.

Why did she sing any song twice in the contest anyway? A bit boring to be honest.

However as Gary Barlow would say, it's a singing competition, not a song choosing competition. Therefore it shouldn't really matter what is sung as long as the contestants are good.

That's all very well if there's not that big of a difference between the songs of two competing contestants, but the difference between Matt and Saara's song was quite noticeable. It's a bit like giving one driver a Ferarri and another a Ford Focus and then just simply saying that the Ford Focus driver should have went faster if he/she wanted to win the race.

Perhaps it shouldn't, but clearly it does.
