I remember him when he used to be a weather man on Central.

Chris Tarrant used to present a Tiswas-lite version of the 6pm Central New slot of a Friday and I remember Ian presenting the weather from Dudley Zoo Penguin enclosure

Tarrant always had him broadcasting from bizarre locations and Ian always seemed happy to do them

I can think of four worrying absences from BBC Radio 2/4 recently.

It was. I seem to remember Rory Bremner doing a very good Gaskill impersonation too.

Weather forecasts could be boring to watch!! Not with Ian McCaskill. So enthusiastic.

Here is a couple of videos of Rory Bremner impersonating McCaskill.

Three-time Derby-winning jockey Walter Swinburn has died at the age of 55. Swinburn, who had been suffering from epilepsy, died peacefully at home.

Didnt Rory do one of his shows as Ian all the way through, or at least the topical standup bit?

RIP Ian McCaskill

Next year, and the years after will be worse for celebrity deaths.
