I have been bemused by what was a bit of a non story , i.e. Tory leader wears expensive leather trousers. It appears to have become a bit of a bi**h fest that reflects badly on senior Tory women. Or is it because it's between women and about
clothes it's being reported and commented upon ?
Sorry if a thread already , or indeed lack of interest didn't engender one

I thought those brown leather trousers looked quite nice.

Obviously, they didn't impress Nicky Morgan too much. Indeed, Mrs May wants "that woman" to be kept away from No 10 !!!

That's told her.

This very subject has been discussed twice in Jeremy Vine's Radio 2 programme in the past few days. I would gladly spend £995 on a pair of trousers - if there was £950 left in the pockets.

It might come with the territory of being PM - John Major had lots of criticism of his grey suits and ties.

Aunty Theresa has always been known for her shoes

I seem to remember Cameron criticising Corbyn on at least one occasion about his attire. At least he wasn't attacking someone in his own party, I guess.

So what if she's wearing expensive trousers. Lots of people like spending their money on expensive clothes, even people who can't really afford it, like a lot of Brexiters.

I think she could lend them trousers to Sahid Javid, he could become the third member of right said fred

It's a story that fizzled out very quickly a couple of weeks ago. Whoever it is that's stirring it up again must see some personal or political advantage in doing so.

Where the hell do you live? I thought they'd almost died out after the 1980's.

Teresa May can wear anything she wants, her form of dress so as long as she looks clean and tidy and is suitable for the occasion, I can live with, and if they cost £995 the so be it, that is her business where she spends here money.

£995, while the Syrian, African and some UK children starve to death, she must really like the feel of leather on her arse ?

Sexism alive and well in the UK.

Nobody talks about male politicians' clothing.

Tory PM wears expensive clothing of her own choice in her own home shocker.

Or perhaps not.

Nicky Morgan should have kept her nose out of it, given that she was pictured with a bag that costs the same as the trousers anyway. Rich people spending a lot on their clothes and accessories should not be news to anyone.

They do, all the time. Boris anyone?

And it was a woman bitching about another woman so the sexism line doesn't work here.

In an era of austerity the PM spends nearly £1000 on a pair of trousers. Not exactly the message that is meant to be sent

This is what happens when you give women power.

Honest though. Unlike the leader of the opposition who considers himself to be not wealthy on £137K.

Possibly last week! It's the follow up that's been interesting for me.
And that the follow up has been so widely reported.
I do think Fiona Hill ? Mays henchwoman, rather over egged the pudding.
